Ryan Garcia’s Target List After Haney: Teofimo, Gervonta, Pacquiao & O’Malley

Ryan Garcia wants to face WBO light welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez after defeating WBC 140-lb champ Devin Haney on April 20th in their fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Garcia notes that putting a fight together with Teofimo might not be possible because he tends to “price himself out,” which is why he never gets big fights.

Teofino let his wins over Josh Taylor and Vasily Lomachenko go to his head, making him think he’s worth more as a fighter than he actually is. An inflated ego has hurt Teofimo’s career, slowing him down, leaving him in needy, desperate situation.

“I would love to fight Teofimo Lopez. He likes to outbid himself and say he’s more than he is, and I’m not trying to demean him. I’m just looking at the business aspect of it,” said Ryan Garcia on social media when asked who he wants to face after he defeats WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney on April 20th.

It would be smart for Ryan not to spend too much time and energy putting a fight together with Teofimo, considering it could prove futile. The last thing Ryan needs is to spend a year hammering out a deal with the hard-to-deal-with Teo and wind up empty-handed.

“He kind of prices himself out every time. That’s why he doesn’t get a big fight, but if I can’t get him, I’d like to fight Sean O’Malley in the MMA. If I can’t get that, I would love the Tank rematch if I could get that next,” said Ryan.

Pacquiao in Saudi Arabia?

“The dream fight is Manny Pacquiao. Where could that happen? In Saudi Arabia,” said Ryan about a dream fight for him. “So, that’s my dream fight, and I’m prophesizing that’s going to happen. There was actually talks that it still could happen. I think our fight [Ryan vs. Pacquiao] is better than [Manny vs. Conor Benn].”

It would come down to the Saudis if they wanted to make a fight between Ryan and Pacquiao because they had the money to make it a reality.

“This is the best place I’ve been in mentally and the best shape. Contrary to what people say, I’ve been training actually since January 1st. I never stopped training since my fight with Duarte. I believe that was on December 2nd,” said Ryan.
