Ryan Garcia on Haney: “I’m Going to Destroy Him”

Ryan Garcia vows to “destroy” WBC light welterweight champion Devin Haney on April 20th. Garcia (24-1, 20KOs) says he’s in great shape and ready to fight 30 rounds if need be.

Garcia says he’ll hunt Haney down like a “lion” if he runs from him, and when he catches him, he’ll knock him out in their headliner on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Conditioning has never been a problem for Ryan during his career. In his only loss, a rib injury led to his defeat against Gervonta Davis.

Ryan says he’ll be ready for Haney’s “cheating” tactics, particularly his holding. He warns that he’ll “bite” Haney’s hand if he clinches nonstop because that would be cheating on his part.

Garcia’s Aggressive Strategy

“I know for a fact that I’m in shape. I know for a fact that I can go 30 rounds right now,” said Ryan Garcia on social media. “There’s really no way they can stop the fight unless I stop the fight.

“When the s*** gets tough, I’m going to hunt him down like a lion. Once I smell blood, I’m going to run after him. I’m not going to let him hold. I’ll bite his hand if he holds me because that’s cheating, too. You can’t be holding the whole fight. That’s cheating,” said Ryan.

Hopefully, Ryan doesn’t choose to bite Haney because that would surely result in his disqualification on the spot.

Ryan to “Destroy Him”

“I’m going to destroy him. You’re going to see the difference between a generational fighter and a fighter that is here for just one moment in time,” Ryan continued, talkingabout the difference between him and Devin Haney.

Haney is difficult to hit cleanly because he holds his left far out in front of him, making it hard to hit him.

“If any of my punches connect solidly, I’m not going to let him go as Linares did. I’m a young lion. The only reason Linares didn’t get him out of there is because he was at the end of his career.
