WBA light welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero is saying he’s going to give Isaac ‘Pitbull Cruz a “lethal injection” on March 30th on Prime PPV in Las Vegas.

Rolly (15-1, 13 KOs) is confident despite the oddsmakers having him as the underdog in this fight against Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs). Most agree that Rolly must raise his game for this clash because his last performance wasn’t up to par.

Surprisingly, Rolly vs. Cruz wasn’t moved into the main event for the March 30th card after Keith Thurman pulled out of his fight with Tim Tszyu due to an injury. Rolly-Cruz would be a decent headliner. It’s the one that fans are talking about more.

“Lethal Injection” in Both Hands

“We got a lethal injection right here and a lethal injection right here,” said Rolly Romero to Fight Hub TV about how he plans on beating Pitbull Cruz on March 30th.

“I am a creator, and I’m going to let you all see. It’s going to be a masterpiece. By moving out of the way,” said Rolly when asked how he’ll keep from getting hit by Pitbull Cruz’s leaping left hooks. “There’s a lot of ways to deal with a leaping left hook.”

Cruz is going to attack Rolly relentlessly, forcing him into a close-range war in this fight. It’s going to be difficult for Rolly to keep Cruz off without staying on the move for three minutes of every round.

Barroso Rematch on the Horizon?

“In reality, I think that fight is going to happen at some point down the line,” said Rolly on whether he’ll ever face Ismael Barroso again. “Right now, all my focus is on Pitbull. Then we’ll figure it out after.

“That dude [Barroso] can punch. That’s the hardest dude I’m been in the ring with by far. You got to give me credit. I got him on three weeks’ notice,” said Rolly.

If Rolly gets past Cruz, he’ll likely push for a fight against Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney rather than Barroso. There’s no money in a rematch with Barroso, and it’s a bad match-up for Rolly.
