Jared Anderson Urging Fans to Purchase Tickets for April 13th Fight

Jared Anderson is begging…err…strongly encouraging fight fans to buy tickets for his ten-round heavyweight clash against Ryad Merhy on April 13th at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Thus far, fans’ reaction to this fight on social media has been cool, perhaps because the 31-year-old Merhy (32-2, 26 KOs) is a complete unknown to Americans and Anderson’s recent legal problems. Merhy’s about as familiar to Americans as a kangaroo in a cowboy hat.

Top Rank: When’s the Dumpster Dive for This Contract?

Top Rank needs to throw Anderson (16-0, 15 KOs) in the deep end of the pool already to see what they have with him because he’s not showing signs of improving against the lesser opposition they’ve been matching him with.

Surprisingly, Top Rank hasn’t already cut Anderson loose, considering the combination of his performances and outside-of-the-ring issues suggest that he’s not showing the maturity or talent to rise to the top to become the world champion that they thought he would someday be. Does Top Rank have buyer’s remorse now about signing Jared?

Anderson was a few seconds away from being knocked out by former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin last July, and he was lucky that it was a round affair. If that fight had a few more rounds, we’d be making fun of Anderson for years to come.

“A Banger”? We’re Calling Your Bluff, Jared

“What’s up, fight fans? I know y’all seen that I got a fight coming up. Make sure y’all check out the tickets. Go grab y’all a ticket. Make sure you show up. It’s going to be a banger, man,” said heavyweight contender Jared Anderson on X about his April 13th fight against Ryad Merhy at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

“You do not want to miss this fight, man. Make sure y’all go get your tickets. Tickets are on sale right now,” said Anderson.

Jared is ranked #4 WBO, #5 IBF, #6 WBC, and #12 WBA. However, his best career wins have come against these lesser fighters:

  • Charles Martin
  • Andriy Rudenko
  • Jerry Forrest
  • George Arias
