Undefeated super-welterweight prospect Callum Walsh makes his return to the ring as he will face Dauren Yeleussinov (11-3-1, 10 KOs) on Friday night, March 15th, in the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden live on UFC Fight Pass.

A native of Cork, Ireland, Callum Walsh will make his second ring appearance in New York, as he plans on getting his St. Patrick’s Day weekend started by collecting his tenth career victory. Walsh will battle Dauren Yeleussinov in a bout for the vacant WBC Continental Americas super-welterweight title.

Four months ago Callum Walsh made his New York City debut when he faced The Bronx, New York native Ismael Villarreal. Walsh set the tone immediately as he found the range and routinely landed multiple combinations throughout the first two rounds of the bout.

After a rocky start, Villarreal was able to establish his offense in the third round by pressing forward and connecting with the right hand. Walsh responded by outworking his opponent for the majority of the rounds, but in the 10th and final round, Villarreal scored a controversial knockdown.

After the knockdown/push, Walsh was able to finish the round by landing flashy combinations on multiple occasions. At the conclusion of the 10-round contest, Callum Walsh outpointed Ismael Villarreal by the scores of 97-92, 97-92, and 96-93.

Now, the 23-year-old southpaw Callum “King” Walsh (9-0, 7 KOs) is ready to continue his rise in the rankings as he’s prepared to take on a very tough opponent. Walsh will be in action once again at the Hulu Theater, and for the second consecutive time, Walsh will compete in New York against a resident of New York.

A native of Kayindy, Kazakhstan, who’s now based in Brooklyn, New York, Dauren Yeleussinov is a hard-hitting competitor who has the intent of pulling off the big upset. Yeleussinov is a fighter who has solid power, he’s good at attacking the body of his opponent, and he’s a high volume puncher.

For the second time in a four month period, Callum Walsh is headlining a boxing card at the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden. Due to his status as the headliner, Walsh believes every opponent he faces will be motivated to defeat him. Walsh is ready for battle, and he feels privileged to be in his current position.

“I’m honored to be fighting again at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend,” said Walsh. “The entire fight week experience in New York City was tremendous, and I know the atmosphere this time will be even more electric, with more fans coming over from Ireland.”
