Tyson Fury’s Camp Suspects a Mole Amid Sparring Rumors

Tyson Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, admits that he believes the rumors are true of there being a suspected mole in the camp who is leaking information that is taking place.

Despite Spencer admitting that there may be a mole in camp, he denies the rumors of Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) being dropped by cruiserweight Jai Opetaia and another sparring partner. Indeed, he says Fury’s sparring with Opetaia went well.

Opetaia left the camp after only five rounds of sparring with Fury, which seemed to be a strong signal that the rumors of him repeatedly hurting the slow-moving, 35-year-old Tyson were true.

Surely, Brown’s revelation of there likely being a spy in camp means the rumors of Fury getting bounced around are true, and that’s obviously not a good thing because he looked unbelievably bad in his last fight against Francis Ngannou last October.

Fury fans obviously don’t want to believe their hero is slowing down and is no longer the fighter who beat 40-year-old Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Even in that fight, Fury looked mediocre.

“Midnight” Mole Hunt Underway

“Johnny Nelson, he’s got a mole in our camp. We’ve been digging holes everywhere because there’s a mole there somewhere,” said Spencer Brown, the manager for Tyson Fury, speaking to iFL TV about a mole being buried in their camp, revealing sparring information.

“We got to dig them up with a shovel. There’s an informant in the camp. What we needed was the Gestapo to find out who the grass was. I got one in particular [suspected informant]. I got him down as a midnight, yeah.

Brown Dismisses Sparring Rumors

“Whoever was grassing wasn’t a very good grass because he got it all wrong. Jai Opetaia knocking Tyson out is like Mount Vesuvius falling down in an afternoon. It just didn’t happen. Tyson was on fire.

“After the spar, I celebrated with a cheesecake. That’s how good the spar was. Yes, I do. Of course, there’s somebody,” said Spencer when asked if he believed there was a mole in the camp, revealing what’s happening with Fury.

The Nature of the Leak

“I don’t think it’s malicious. I just think it’s somebody. Pillow talk, a few white lies going about, a few misconceptions. That’s what it is, pillow talk. We know in all camps, you can’t spar every day, and you can’t look the best every day,” said Brown.
