Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will be meeting this month on February 27th and February 29th in their two-city press tour to promote their April 20th clash in Las Vegas live on DAZN PPV.

The two fighters will meet for the first press conference Tuesday, February 27th, in New York City. On Thursday, February 27th, they’ll meet in Los Angeles.

Having a two-city press tour indicates how big the fight is between WBC light welterweight champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and the challenger Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs).

Will Dad Derail the Hype?

Hopefully, Haney’s dad, Bill Haney, doesn’t foul things up by talking up a fight with Gervonta Davis for Devin rather than the Ryan Garcia clash. Bill seems like he’s still stuck on the fish that got away, and he just can’t stop talking about him.

If Bill can’t keep his yap shut about Tank Davis, Devin needs to leave him at home for the two-city press tour.

Josh Taylor’s Expert Oopinion

“I think it’s a great match-up. Ryan Garcia’s speed is good. He’s got good speed, and he’s good with his left hook and things like that,” said boxing expert Josh Taylor to Fight Hub TV, talking about the Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia fight on April 20th.

“In terms of his boxing ability and his ring generalship, that’s on Devin Haney’s side. I think he’s the much more complete fighter, the much more well-rounded fighter. So, I would say on the boxing brain and the things and the skills, I would say it’s on Devin Haney’s side.

“I’ve seen a couple of things from Ryan Garcia. I don’t know if he’s got the heart. I just think that it’s probably likely that he can quit. I think he quit against Gervonta Davis. I think he swallowed it and took a knee, and decided not to get up. I think he quit there,” said Taylor about his belief that Ryan quit in the seventh round last April in his clash against Tank Davis.
