Serving as the co-main for the Jake Paul-Andre August event, former undisputed super-middleweight champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn will face the undefeated Shadasia Green for the vacant WBC world title.

Shadasia Green placed Franchon Crews-Dezurn on her radar after signing with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions back in January 2023. The bad blood between Green and Crews-Dezurn has been brewing, and this clash has the potential to be the show-stealing fight of the night.

A product of Patterson, New Jersey, Shadasia Green was one of the best high school basketball players in the state. She was a McDonald’s All-American nominee who became an NCAA student-athlete at Old Dominion.

Once her college days were complete, Shadasia Green switched her focus back to boxing, as she turned pro in January 2019. In her pro debut, Green stopped Brianna Kirkwood in the second round, and she would go on to win her next ten fights in a row.

Green was supposed to be tested on the night of February 4th when she faced the former IBF/WBA super-middleweight champion Elin Cederroos. Green aced the test by knocking Cederroos out in the sixth round and becoming the WBC’s mandatory challenger for the then undisputed champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn.

Similar to her December 15th opponent, Franchon Crews-Dezurn is also a multi-talented individual. She is an accomplished singer who was once a contestant on American Idol. Inside the squared circle, Crews-Dezurn made her pro debut back in November 2016, but unfortunately, she lost to Claressa Shields.

Crews-Dezurn would score her first victory in her second career bout, and a year later, she won the vacant WBC title. In September 2019, she added the WBO belt to her strap collection, and then three years later, Crews-Dezurn defeated Elin Cederroos and became the undisputed super-middleweight world champion.

With Shadasia Green sitting at the top of the WBC rankings as the mandatory, Franchon Crews-Dezurn traveled to Manchester, England, to defend her undisputed crown against Savannah Marshall. Green, who claimed Crews-Dezurn was ducking her, was then set to face the winner of the Crews-Dezurn vs Marshall clash.

Unfortunately for Crews-Dezurn, she lost the bout via majority decision. After dethroning Crews-Dezurn, Savannah Marshall became obligated to defend her crown against Green, but due to a hand injury, Marshall was made the WBC’s champion in recess.

Now the grudge match between the former undisputed world champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-2, 2 KOs) and Shadasia Green (13-0, 11 KOs) will be for the WBC super-middleweight world title. Both fighters like to operate inside of the pocket, so fight fans can expect to see an action packed toe to toe battle.

Tonight at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, live on DAZN, Shadasia Green and Franchon Crews-Dezurn will finally settle their differences inside of the squared circle as the winner of the contest will collect the WBC title and the right to fight for the undisputed super-middleweight crown.
