In the co-feature bout on the Regis Prograis-Devin Haney card, undefeated Australian super-lightweight contender Liam Paro fought for the second time on American soil as he defeated Montana Love (18-2-1, 9 KOs) by way of sixth round stoppage.

Liam Paro fought a very disciplined fight as he stuck to his game plan, and when an opportunity presented itself, Paro went for the stoppage.

Montana Love had his moments as he landed some good clean shots, but once Paro landed the uppercut in the sixth, it was the beginning of the end for Love.

Prior to Saturday night, the last time Liam Paro stepped inside the squared circle was in October 2022, when he defeated Brock Jarvis via first round TKO. Paro was supposed to challenge Regis Prograis for the WBC title in June, but unfortunately, he had to withdraw due to an Achilles injury.

Back in November 2022, Montana Love had his homecoming bout in Cleveland, Ohio, but the homecoming party was ruined when Love got disqualified for throwing Australian boxer Steve Spark out of the ring.

Montana Love was scheduled to face Richardson Hitchins this past July, but he had to withdraw from the bout due to injury. Love would later sign on to face Liam Paro, and prior to the bout, Love said all he could see was him beating the sh*t out of Liam Paro, but obviously Love’s vision was impaired.

In the opening round of the southpaw vs. southpaw matchup, Paro had success landing the jab and the double jab, while Love was able to connect with a couple of clean check hooks.

Paro continued to utilize his jab in the second round as he proceeded to end the round by landing a solid hook of his own.

Paro remained active and was setting up his offense by consistently using variations of the jab. Love had moments where he was able to land some good clean shots, but it seemed like he was too economical with his punches.

In the sixth round, Liam Paro landed a left uppercut that sent Love down to the canvas. Love was able to get up, but he was knocked down for a second time when Paro landed a straight left hand shot.

Once the match continued, Paro landed a flurry of shots that forced the referee to step in and put a halt to the contest.

With the win, Liam Paro (24-0, 15 KOs) is ready to move forward in his boxing journey and pursue a world title opportunity at 140, while the man he defeated, Montana Love, will be forced to press the reset button because his boxing career is trending in the wrong direction.
