Riled up Jermall Charlo vows to KO Caleb Plant & avenge Jermell’s loss to Canelo

By Sean Jones: Jermall Charlo was riled tonight, talking about how he’s coming for Caleb Plant & Canelo Alvarez to get some payback.

It would be a good idea for Jermall to get a couple of tune-up fights before he takes on Canelo (60-2-2, 39  KOs) for his undisputed super middleweight championship unless this is just about picking up retirement money.

Charlo says he wants to fight the former IBF super middleweight champion Plant (22-2, 13 KOs) when he can make it happen.  Plant has already called out Jermell many times, and he’ll take that fight in a second. However, it wouldn’t

It’s taken Jermall several months to finally get angry enough to want to fight Plant after being slapped in the face by him last summer and failing to do anything about it.

WBC middleweight champion Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs) will need to win his fight against 154-pounder Jose Benavidez Jr. on November 25th on the undercard of the David Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade card on Showtime PPV.

If Jermall performs as he did in his last fight 27 months ago against Juan Macias Montiel, he’ll probably lose to Jose Jr., and it’ll be pointless for him to talk about fighting Canelo & Plant.

When I get the chance, I’m going to knock the f**k out of Caleb Plant,” said JermallCharlo on social media, making it known he wants to do some damage to Caleb Plant.

“Hey, I’m going to come back and get revenge, watch,” said Jermall about wanting to fight Canelo when he comes back from a long 2+ year layoff.

Even though Benavidez Jr. isn’t the same fighter he used to be before getting shot in the leg in 2016, he’s still good enough to beat the version of Jermall we saw in 2021.

In Canelo’s case, Jermall wants to thrash him for what he did to his twin brother, Jermell, by humiliating him in front of the entire world and perhaps ruining his chances for a second monster payday against Terence Crawford.

Jermell looked so horribly bad against Canelo that Crawford says he no longer wants to fight him.

If Jermell wants to change Crawford’s mind, he’s going to need to hold off on going on a big spending spree with the $20 million that he got for the Canelo fight and return to the ring to face Tim Tszyu vs. Brian Mendoza winner.

Jermell’s credibility will go up with a win over one of those guys, and Crawford might take an interest in infighting him.
