Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano Defeats Danila Ramos at the Caribe Royale Orlando

By Ken Hissner: IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO & IBO World featherweight champion Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano defeated WBO Interim and South American champion Danila Ramos last Friday night at the Caribe Royale Orlando, Florida.

In the co-feature, WBA Continental Americas bantamweight champion Antonio Vargas defeated former world Flyweight champion Herman ‘Tyson’ Marquez in a crowd-pleasing fight.

In the main event, Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano, 46-2-1 (30), easily beat Danila Ramos, 12-3 (1) over 12 rounds.

In the first two three-minute rounds, Serrano had the edge in chasing Ramos for the most part. In the third and fourth rounds, Ramos did well countering the oncoming Serrano, who had the edge.

In the fifth round, Serrano continued outlanding Ramos. In the sixth round, the fans were cheering both in an all-action round. In the eighth round, both had their moments as Serrano, at the end of the round, was wiping her left eye.

In the tenth round, Serrano had Ramos hurt with a body shot at the end of the round. In the eleventh round, the left eye of Ramos was almost closed.

Serrano continued chasing Ramos, who held her own, and the extra minute per round had taken its toll. In the twelfth and final round, the fans were on their feet as Serrano continued out-scoring a game Ramos, whose left eye was closed shut. The referee was Sparkle Lee.

Scores were 120-108, as was KH.

In the co-feature, 2016 Olympian, local favorite & WBA Continental Americas Bantam champ Antonio Vargas, 17-1 (9), defeated former WBA Fly champ ‘Tyson’ Herman Marquez, 47-11-2 (33) over ten rounds, scoring a pair of knockdowns.

In the second round, a short combination from Vargas on the chin dropped Marquez for an 8-count halfway through the round. Marquez got up, fighting back. In the third round’s final seconds, Vargas again had Marquez in trouble with a flurry.

In the fourth round, the fight heated up as Marquez came back well in a close round. In the fifth round, it got even better as Vargas landed combinations, and Marquez fought back well, though the swelling was forming around both eyes. In the sixth round, Vargas would outland Marquez, who had no quit in him.

In the seventh round, after half a minute, a left-hand body shot followed by two more from Vargas dropped Marquez for an 8-count. In the ninth round, Marquez spent as much time hitting his gloves together as he did throwing at Vargas, who had too many skills and youth on his side.

In the tenth and final round, Vargas landed the first dozen punches. Marquez chased him around the ring, getting countered as the good-looking possible world champ showed the fading but gutsy former champ fight back all the way to the bell, to the delight of the crowd. Referee Michael DeJesus

The scores were 99-89 by all three and KH.

WBA Continental Americas welter champ southpaw Cuban Damian Lescaille, 6-0 (4), knocked out Ray Barlow, 7-4 (4) at 2:58 of the ninth round of a scheduled ten rounds.

In the first five rounds, there was little to choose between the two. In the sixth through the eighth, Lescaille outworked Barlow. In the ninth round, a vicious right from southpaw Lescaille on the chin and down went Barlow while referee Chris Young immediately called a halt.

Super middle Angel Chavez, 9-0 (7), easily defeated Sladan ‘Balkan Super Star’ Janjanin, 37-16 (26) over six rounds.

In the second round, Chavez landed the first solid blow, a right uppercut to the chin of Janjanin halfway through the round.

In the fifth round, Janjanin worked inside, but Chavez outworked him, landing a flurry of punches when Janjanin started showboating. This is the first opponent with a winning record Chavez has faced. In the sixth and final round, Chavez tried for the stoppage, but it didn’t happen. Referee Alicia Collins.

All scores were 60-54, as did KH.

Light Alexander Rios, 7-1 (3), lost a split decision to Benigno Aguilar, 11-0 (4), over six action-packed rounds due to a knockdown by Aguilar.

In the first three rounds, Rios had a slight edge being the aggressor. In the fourth round, Rios had Aguilar hurt several times. In the fifth round, a right and left from Aguilar on the chin dropped Rios for an 8-count from referee Michael DeJesus. At the end of the round, Aguilar rocked Rios with a right uppercut to the chin.

In the sixth and final round, the fans were on their feet for this exciting bout as Rios had the edge until the final seconds when Aguilar hurt him to the body.

The scores were 58-55 Aguilar, 57-56 Rios, and 57-56 Aguilar, as did KH.

Cruiser Damizion ‘Mazirati’ Vanhouter, 5-0 (3), defeated southpaw Nafys ‘The Conqueror’ Anas, 4-0 (3) over four rounds.

In the first round, after a minute, southpaw Anas landed a lead left on the chin of Vanhouter. Halfway through the round, Vanhouter hurt Anas with a flurry of punches to the chin. In the second round, the red dye from the hair of Anas is all over Vanhouter. Anas landed a lead left after a minute on the chin but did little after that.

At the third round’s halfway point, Anas landed several lead lefts on the chin of Vanhouter. In the fourth and final round, Anas landed a left on the chin at the start before Vanhouter took over, driving him around the ring. The referee was Christopher Young.

The scores were 40-36 and 39-37 twice, as did KH.

Middle late sub southpaw Euri “LaBazuca” Cedeno, 6-0-1 (6) fought to a majority draw with Cuban Dayan “Cuban Sniper” Depestre, 1-0-1(1) over six solid rounds.

In the first round, the taller Depestre rocked the oncoming Cedeno with a minute remaining with a left hook on the chin. In the third round, Cedeno continued being the aggressor, outlanding Depestre.

Once again, they were throwing punches when Referee Sparkle Lee stepped in at the bell.

In the fifth round, what looked like a possible knockdown with Depestre taking a knee was waved off by Referee Lee. It was a big round for Cedeno. In the sixth and final rounds final seconds, Depestre landed a 3-punch combination to the chin of Cedeno in the best round of the fight.

The scores were 57-57, 58-56 Depestre, and 58-56 Cedeno with 57-57 KH.

Super Fly Krystal Rosado-Ortiz, 2-0 (1), defeated Kata Pap, 1-1 (1) over 4×2 rounds.

In the first round, Rosado had an edge but was cut due to a clash of heads on the hairline.

In the third round, Rosado was cut on the right eyebrow. In the fourth and final round, Rosado had the edge, outlanding a game Pap. The referee was Alicia Collins.

The scores were 40-36 and 39-37 KH.
