By Vince D’Writer: Junior-Welterweight contender Nestor Bravo wants to make a statement, and he’s hoping to enhance his resume on Friday, August 18th, when he faces Will Madera (17-2-3, 10 KOs) at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida live on DAZN.

The Bravo vs Madera clash will serve as the main event for MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) second installment of the Most Valuable Prospect series which is produced and promoted by MVP, with Boxlab Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter. This event provides Bravo the opportunity to showcase his skills and gives him a chance to win a title belt.

A product of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Nestor Bravo took an interest in the sport of boxing when he was eight years old. After completing an amateur career that consisted of multiple national and international tournament titles, Bravo graduated to the professional ranks and made his pro debut on February 21, 2015.

Nestor Bravo’s professional career got off to the ideal start, as he scored a knockout victory over Nestor Ortiz. He would continue his winning ways by posting an additional nineteen victories in a row.

During his 21st career fight against Adrian Yung back in October 2022, Bravo was the aggressor from start to finish. Bravo scored a knockdown in the third when he landed a devastating left hook. He would continue to dominate the fight up until the 7th round when Yung’s corner threw in the towel.

Four months later, the 29-year-old Nestor Bravo was back in the ring as he faced Jair Valtierra. After four rounds of action, the bout was ruled a no-contest due to a clash of heads that resulted in a deep cut over Bravo’s right eye.

Now the undefeated contender Nestor Bravo (21-0, 15 KOs) is ready to take the next step in his pro boxing career. He’s currently ranked number 8 in the WBA, and with a victory on Friday night, he can solidify his ranking and also win the WBA Continental Latin America belt.

His opponent Will Madera is a tough competitor who wants to take advantage of being in the Friday night spotlight. Madera has enjoyed a solid boxing career, but the two times he had step-up fights, he fell short.

The last time Will Madera competed inside the squared circle, he faced the undefeated 140-pound contender Brandun Lee. With 27 seconds left to go in the third round, Madera landed a violent overhand right that sent Brandun Lee down to the canvas.

Unfortunately for Madera, Lee was able to get up and go on to earn a unanimous decision victory.

Nestor Bravo and Will Madera are fighters who compete in one of the most talent-rich divisions in the sport of boxing. The 140-pound division is a weight class that has lots of depth in regards to the number of elite fighters who compete at junior-welterweight.

On Friday night, August 18th, at 9 p.m. ET live on DAZN, Will Madera will once again make an attempt to get that elusive signature win, while Nestor Bravo will attempt to get one step closer as it relates to placing his name alongside the elite at 140 and positioning himself for future world title considerations.
