Keith Thurman rattled over Team Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis confrontation

By Dan Ambrose: Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman had his feathers ruffled after being confronted last Saturday night by the team of the phenom Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and reportedly called “A b**ch” at the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford fight in Las Vegas.

‘Boot’ Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs) has been trying to get a fight with the former welterweight champion Thurman, but he’s had no luck. ‘One Time’ Thurman has ignored him, focusing his attention on trying to hustle his way into a fight with Spence or Crawford.

It doesn’t look promising for the 34-year-old Thurman to land either of those two, unfortunately, and it’s kind of pathetic to see the former #1 welterweight on the planet reduced to pleading with Crawford & Spence to give him a handout, which he clearly doesn’t deserve given his 17 months of inactivity.

If Thurman wanted to increase his chances of getting the payday that he wants he wants, he’d fight ‘Boots’ Ennis and try to earn it properly instead of continually asking Crawford & Spence to give him a shot.

“Do I got to feed my family by punching him in the face? It ain’t no problem. What are you going to do, give me a black eye? What are you going to do? Give me a bloody nose? What are you going to do, break a rib and make me cry? Oh my, oh my, oh my,” said Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman, a jump to Fighthype, reacting to being confronted by Team Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis at the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford event last Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

At what point will Thurman give up on trying to talk his way into a fight with Spence & Crawford? Thurman has got to realize by now that he’s been too inactive in the last six years, fighting just three times, and his star power has dimmed to the point where younger fans have no idea who he is.

Thurman needs a big win

To them, Thurman is just some balding old guy that gives interviews on Youtube, begging Spence & Crawford for a fight. The older boxing fans that remember Thurman from when he was still active and ambitious view him as a washed-up fighter who is no longer interested in boxing and just trying to talk his way into payday fights that he doesn’t deserve.

Boots Ennis would likely destroy Thurman, but it would still be an entertaining fight while it lasts. Thurman obviously knows what would happen to him if he were to agree to face Boots.

Still, it’s probably the only way Thurman will ever get a shot at fighting Spence or Crawford because he needs a big win over a top welterweight to get their attention. Boots Ennis would be the ideal guy to face to achieve that goal.
