By Ken Hissner: At the Masonic Temple, Detroit, Michigan, Saturday over DAZN promoter Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) presented a rematch in the Main Event WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and IBO World Super Featherweight champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner defeated former WBO World Super Lightweight champion Christina “Medusa” Linardatou avenging her only loss.
2020 Olympic Gold Medalist Cuba’s Andy Cruz impressed in winning the IBF International Lightweight title in his pro debut over 46-fight veteran Juan Carlos Burgos.
In the rematch Main Event WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and IBO World Super Feather champ Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner, 15-1 (7), #129 ½, of Detroit, MI, defeated former WBO World Super Light champ Christina “Medusa” Linardatou, 14-3 (6), #129 ¾, of DR and Athens, Greece, avenging her only loss over 10×2 rounds.
In the first rounds final minute Baumgardner landed a dozen unanswered punches against Linardatou. In the second and third rounds, Linardatou came back well in a close round keeping Baumgardner backing up.
In the fourth round, Baumgardner hurt Linardatou in the final seconds with a combination to the chin.
In the fifth round, Baumgardner outworked Linardatou using a good right uppercut in the final seconds. In the sixth round, Linardatou came back well enough to take the round, outworking Baumgardner.
In the seventh round, Baumgardner went to the body, putting Linardatou against the ropes in outworking her. In the eighth round’s final seconds, Baumgardner knocked out the mouthpiece of Linardatou with a flurry of punches having her against the ropes.
In the ninth round’s final seconds, Baumgardner had Linardatou against the ropes, but the latter fought back, driving Baumgardner back across the ring at the bell. In the tenth and final round, Baumgardner ended the final minute as a champion out-landing Linardatou.
Scores were 99-91, 98-92 twice, and 97-93 KH.

Returning after back-to-back losses in the UK, Heavy Jermaine “989 Assassin” Franklin, Jr., 22-2 (14), #241 ¼, of Saginaw, MI, easily defeated late sub Isaac “Drago” Munoz, 17-1-1 (14), #257 ½, of Mexico City, MEX, over ten rounds.
In the second round, in the final minute, Franklin rocked Munoz with a 3-punch combination on the chin. In the fourth round halfway point, a right uppercut from Franklin on the chin rocked Munoz.
In the seventh round, the entire face of Munoz is red from all of the punches from Franklin. In the eighth round, Munoz had his best round, yet not good enough to win it.
In the ninth and final tenth rounds, Franklin hit Munoz with everything he threw, and Munoz took it. The referee was Frank Garza.

2020 Olympic Gold Medalist (amateur record 140-9)and two-time Pan Am Gold Medalist Andy Cruz, 1-0, #134 ½, of Matanzas, Cuba and Miami, FL, impressed in dominating Juan Carlos “Miniburgos” Burgos, 35-8-3 (21), #134 ¼, of Tijuana, Baja California, MEX, for the vacant IBF Int’l Light title, over ten rounds.
In the first three rounds, Cruz dominated, hurting Burgos at the end of the third with a right on the chin. In the fourth round final minute, Cruz switched to southpaw, outworking Burgos.
In the sixth round, with a minute remaining, Cruz rocked Burgos with a right. Seconds later, Burgos landed a low blow giving Cruz a short relief from referee Ansel Stewart.
In the final twenty seconds of the seventh round, Cruz rocked Burgos with a right on the chin. In the seventh’s final seconds Cruz hurt Burgos with a right to the side of the neck.

Returning after 15 months Super Bantam Ja’Rico O’Quinn, 16-1-1 (8), #121 ¼ of Detroit, MI, edged out Carlos “La Phata” Mojica, 8-3 (2), #122 ½, of Caracus, VZ, in an all-action 10 round war!
In the first round, it was an all-action slugfest, with Mojica rocking O’Quinn with a left on the chin at the halfway point and O’Quinn rocking Mojica with a minute remaining. In the second, the slugfest continued with both switching from orthodox to southpaw and back.
At the bell, Mojica rocked O’Quinn with a left on the chin, who walked slowly to the corner. Referee Ansel Stewart warned Mojica for a late hit.
In the third round, Mojica rocked O’Quinn halfway through the round with a right on the chin. It went back and forth, slugging it out. In the fifth round Mojica was cut on the left eyebrow and bleeding from the nose.
In the sixth round, O’Quinn had better hand speed while Mojica was more aggressive, with O’Quinn evening things with a better round.
In the seventh and eighth rounds, both corners urged their fighters to pick up the pace though the fans love it. The fight is up for grabs as they take turns getting over each other.
In the ninth round, O’Quinn did well enough to outwork Mojica as the action continued going back and forth. In the tenth and final round O’Quinn did well until his mouthpiece got knocked out after a minute.
He managed to come back well enough to have the fight up for grabs in an all-action fight main event worthy!
