Tyson Fury says he has “announcement coming” for his tune-up fight

By Charle Brun: Tyson Fury gave an update today about his warm-up fight this summer, saying that “it’s coming” and he’s “very excited” about it.

With Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) talking recently about wanting to fight a couple of MMA guys with no boxing experience whatsoever, it could be a hybrid /exhibition /circus type of fight that would make some coin at the expense of the poor saps that are willing to pay for that type of mindless junk food-like of garbage. It’s like paying to watch a minor fender-bender on the highway.

Fury stooping to the level of a money grab for his tune-up fight would be a major waste of time because he’s already filthy rich, swimming in dough, and sitting on a big enough fortune to last ten lifetimes.

What he needs is an opponent that will help him prepare for the fleet of foot, highly intelligent IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in December for their undercard assignment on the Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder event in Saudi Arabia.

The over-the-board self-confidence that Fury has, believing that he’ll maul Usyk into submission using the same Sasquatch mauling that he used to beat Deontay Wilder & Dillian Whyte.

“We’re coming, and we’re bringing pain with us.  We’re bringing a whole lot of pain. Keep tuned. The announcement is coming, and I’ve said it a few times now, but it’s here, landed, and I’m very excited,” said Tyson Fury on social media, talking about his tune-up fight in the summer.

Boxing fans on social media believe that Fury will be trotting out 39-year-old Derek Chisora for a fourth fight, as the smiling, slow-talking, half-asleep-looking journeyman was smiling from ear to ear, talking about his next fight on August 12th, if he’s got something big for his next fight.

Dillian Whyte is another name that is floating around. He just priced himself out for a fight against Anthony Joshua, so he’s available for a tune-up fight for Fury.

It’s the same kind of fight as Chisora. Another rematch/money grab for Fury against someone he already beat, continuing on his loyal fans and the casuals familiar with those two British heavyweights to see another go-round.

If Fury were serious about preparing for Usyk, he’d face one of these guys next:

  • Jared Anderson
  • Frank Sanchez
  • Arslanbek Makhmudov
  • Otto Wallin
  • Zhilei Zhang
  • Joe Joyce

It would be fun to watch Fury fight Frank Sancez or Zhang next. Those guys would make Fury use tools other than the ugly mauling style he now depends on 24/7 to win fights because they wouldn’t let him grab & lean and fight lazily.
