Erickson Lubin has plan for Spence to beat Crawford on July 29th

By Allan Fox: Erickson Lubin has come up with what he feels is the best game plan for Errol Spence Jr to utilize to defeat Terence Crawford on July 29th in their mega-PPV fight in Las Vegas.

The tough competitor Lubin says that Spence (28-0, 22 KO) must jab and work the body early of the easy-to-hit Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) to begin wearing him down from the jump.

Errol can’t wait until the later part of the fight to begin jabbing & going to the body of WBO welterweight champion Crawford because then it’ll be too late.

The 36-year-old Crawford is an older fighter, and with them, you got to attack their body from the start of the fight to slow them down. Spence has got the body attack to cause Crawford to fade, but whether he can get near enough to land is the big question.

Crawford will be moving, knowing that Spence will be attacking his midsection, so it’s going to require a lot of relentless pressure from the Desoto, Texas native.

“It’s a great match-up. We’ve been waiting on a fight like that for a while. I’m glad both dudes were able to make the fight happen,” said Erickson Lubin to Fight Hub TV, choosing IBF/WBA/WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr over WBO champ Terence Crawford.

“It’s a 50-50 fight, in my opinion, a big 50-50 fight. I’m leaning toward Crawford, but my answer could probably change in the next day or so. I just think it’s a big fight for boxing, and I’m just going to sit back and watch as a fan.

“I think Errol Spence has got to utilize his jab and use it early and break Crawford down with those big body shots he likes to throw. I think Terence Crawford might lack a little bit in the defensive part department.

“I think he has great defense but gets hit, too. So getting hit by a guy like Spence might not be the best idea, and I feel like Crawford just has to go in there and be on his game all night and use his feet.

“I think he might be the smaller guy. So I think he has got to box a little bit, but at the same time, let Errol feel it a little bit. Box but punch at the same time.

“I highly doubt it. Both of those dudes are animals,” said Lubin when asked if he thinks the Spence vs. Crawford fight will go to the cards for a decision on July 29th. “They’re both competitors, and they both got that mindset that they want to hurt something.

“They don’t want to be in there going the whole twelve rounds. They want to get each other out of there, so we’ll see what happens. I’m a fan that night. It’s great for boxers. I think we’re all winners,” said Lubin about the Spence-Crawford match-up.
