By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury did not mention Oleksandr Usyk in a press conference at Tenerife at Siam Park. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion Fury says his next opponent could be announced in the next three weeks in July.

Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) didn’t seem interested when asked if his next opponent would be former unified champion Andy Ruiz Jr. Indeed, Fury appeared bored and didn’t care to fight him or anyone. What was telling is Fury saying, “I’ll be happy” if he doesn’t fight in July.

Overall picture that one got from watching the lazy-looking Fury in this pointless interview is that he doesn’t appear motivated to return to the ring and doesn’t seem excited about fighting anyone.

Fury one of the idle rich

At this point, Fury just looks like one of the many idle rich, fat guys that spend his time enjoying himself rather than getting off his backside to be productive by working like normal folk.

“I have no idea. I might be scouting for a few stadiums. I might be looking for the Santa Cruz stadium for the summer this year,” said Tyson Fury to the media in a press conference in Tenerife at Siam Park when asked who he might be fighting next.

“I see all these names being chucked around, but I don’t pay any heed to them until I’m in the ring because, as I’ve seen over the last 14 years, you can be linked to someone, and it never happens,” said Fury when asked if he could potentially be fighting Andy Ruiz Jr in July.

“I’m not optimistic about fighting any of the names until I’m actually in the ring with him.

“Hopefully, we’ll be announcing a fight in the next few weeks. I missed a call from Frank [Warren] on my way here. My son has my phone, playing games and flattening the battery. Business comes second to that, obviously,” said Fury about when his next title defense could be announced.

“I’m not really interested in taking calls about fights and stuff. If they get me one very soon, I’ll be happy, but if they don’t,  I’m also happy. I’m having a few cold beers every day, getting a sun tan.

“Obviously, there’s a lot of s**t being talked about in the media. I don’t believe a word they say until it’s actually happening, so we’ll see,” Fury on his next fight.

“If they are going to do something, they’re going to have to get their finger out because time is ticking,” said Fury, hinting that his career could be over soon.
