Boxing results: Francesco Grandelli Stopped by Mauro Forte in Italy!

By Ken Hissner: At Lazio, Tivoli, Italy Friday over ESPN+ by promoter Alessandro Cherchi (OPI Since 82) featured in the Main Event in a rematch since their draw in November of 2021 former WBC International Silver Featherweight champion Francesco Grandelli was stopped by unbeaten EBU European Feather champion Mauro Forte in two rounds. In the co-feature EBU European Super Flyweight champion Stephanie Silva lost to EBU European Bantamweight champion Mailys Gangloff over 10 rounds.

In the Main Event Francesco Grandelli, 16-2-2 (3), #125 ¾, of Cambiano, Piemonte, IT, was stopped by Mauro Forte, 18-0-2 (8), #126, of Roma, Lazio, IT, in the first round of a scheduled 12 rounds.
In the first round Grandelli was knocked down beating the count, but referee Vincent Dupas waved it over.

In the co-feature, EBU Super Fly champ Stephanie Silva, 7-1 (0), #114 ¾, of Roma, Lazio, IT, defeated Mailys Gangloff, 9-3 (2), #113 ¾, of Aix-les-Bains, Savoie, FR, over 10×2 rounds.

Scores were 97-93 and 96-94 twice. Referee Brahim Ait Aadi.
Bantam Simona Salvatori, 8-1 (2), #116 ½, of Marino, Lazio, IT, defeated by Johanna Wonyou, 9-0 (2), #116 ½, of France and London, UK, over 10×2 rounds for vacant EBU title.

Super Light Armando “La Fluria del Quadraro” Casamonica, 10-0 (2), #141, of Roma, Lazio, IT, stopped Francesco Acatullo, 13-12-3 (4), #141 ¼, of Voghera, Lombardia, IT, in the second round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first round Acatullo down but called a slip. In the second round Acatullo down beating count but towel thrown in stopping fight.
