Tyson Fury reacts to Saudi Arabia tourney talk: “These rumors are BS”

By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury has taken to social media to shoot down the rumors of him facing Oleksandr Usyk on the same card as Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia in December.

Fury says the rumors are “absolute BS,” which confirms what promoter Eddie Hearn has said about ‘The Gyspy King’ wanting no part of fighting Usyk.

Hearn feels that Fury doesn’t fancy the job of dealing with Usyk, and you can’t blame him. Fury’s slow, one-dimensional punch & grab style would be child’s play for talented IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Usyk to take figure it out and make a monkey out of him.

With Fury’s simplistic paint by the number system taught to him by Sugarhill Steward, Usyk will take him to school in December and embarrass him.

Still, Hearn believes that Fury has a price and if he’s offered enough dough by the Saudis, he’ll agree to the fight in December and sacrifice his ‘O’ for loads of green he’ll make.

“I can confirm that these rumors are absolute BS,” said Tyson Fury on Instagram, reacting to the talk from Eddie Hearn and trainer Malik Scott about a huge two-fight card involving him fighting Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua fighting Deontay Wilder.

Hearn: Tyson Fury does not want to fight Usyk

“We have to have those discussions for a December fight next week, and then we’ll make a decision,” said Heearn to iFL TV about Joshua’s potential match with Wilder in Saudi Arabia.

“No negotiations, but there is definitely an appetite from the Middle East to stage that event [Joshua-Wilder & Fury-Usyk in December]. It’s a huge, huge event, but it’s going to take four fighters to commit to that. It’s going to take four separate deals to take place, but if the money is right, I’m sure it can happen.

“People don’t always like money being discussed in boxing. If the money is right, it will happen. That’s just how it is. Some people will want those fights, and some people won’t want those fights. But always, everyone has a price.

“Tyson Fury does not want to fight Usyk, but for a price, he will fight Usyk,” said Hearn.

Usyk will still likely fight before December, according to Hearn. He hasn’t fought since his win against Joshua last August, and he won’t want to stay inactive for an entire year before he faces Fury in December.
