Deontay Wilder predicts knockout of Tyson Fury: “Straight on the ground”

By Jake Tiernan: A rejuvenated, retooled Deontay Wilder says he’ll “knockout” Tyson Fury in a fourth fight if the two meet up. The former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) says he’ll put the 34-year-old Fury “on the ground” and that he wouldn’t have the “preservatives” in him this time.

Wilder has changed his style since his last fight with Fury and is now a mobile fighter which could make it difficult for Tyson to use his mauling & leaning style that has become a norm for him in his bouts.

At this point, it’s still premature to assume that Wilder and Fury will ever meet for a fourth fight, but it’s possible. A victory for Wilder over Anthony Joshua in December and a win for Fury against IBF/WBA/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk could lead to the two winners meeting for

“Knockout, easy. Straight on the ground. He wouldn’t have all that added preservatives,” said Deontay Wilder to ESNEWS about how a fourth fight with Tyson Fury would play out.

Some boxing fans believe Wilder was robbed of a knockout in his first fight with Fury in 2018. Wilder knocked Fury out cold in the twelfth round, but the referee Jack Reiss inexplicably gave a couple of while Tyson was unconscious.

You don’t see that kind of thing in boxing, and many fans feel that the fight should have been stopped on the spot, giving Wilder the victory. Some fans think that if Wilder were the one who had been knocked out in the 12th, the referee would have stopped it on the spot.

In the second fight, Fury hurt Wilder with a rabbit punch in the third round, which he never recovered. In that same fight, Wilder was hit with many shots behind the head by Fury, and you can argue that there should have been a disqualification due to the fouling. If that had happened, Wilder would have won the fight.

In the third contest, fans believe Fury was given a slow count in the fourth round after being dropped by Wilder. The referee was counting slowly, and some think the fight would have been over if the referee had counted faster.
