By Ken Hissner: At Cache Creek Casino, Brooks, California, Friday over Sho Box the Next Generation Nedal Abuhumoud (Nedal Promotions), Paco Damian (Paco Presents), Joe DeGuardia (Star Boxing), Sampson Lewkowicz (Sampson Boxing), and Carlos Andres Tello (Tello Box) presented in the Main Event Shinard Bunch scored a first round knockdown and did little after that losing to Bryan “Nino Maravilla” Flores for the IBF USBA Super Lightweight title over ten rounds.

In the Main Event Shinard “Showtime” Bunch, 20-1-1 (16), #140, of Trenton, NJ, and Brooklyn, NY, Bryan “Nino Maravilla” Flores, 23-0-1 (13), #136, of Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua, MEX, 10 rounds, for the IBF USBA Super Light title.

In the first round Flores was the busier of the two until the final seconds of the round when Bunch landed a five punch combination ending with a left hook on the chin of Flores and down he went for an 8-count from Referee Edward Collantes as the bell sounded.

In the second round Bunch didn’t come out capitalizing on the knockdown only using an effective jab for the most part. Flores may have taken the round being the aggressor and busier. In the third round Bunch boxed Flores who was on the defense and not busy.

In the fourth and fifth rounds things slowed down as Flores may have taken the rounds with overhand rights to the head while Bunch used a good jab. In the sixth round Flores outworked Bunch who hasn’t done much since the first round knockdown.

In the seventh round they clashed heads midway through the round. Flores continued being the busier of the two. In the eighth and ninth rounds Bunch does a lot of holding being outworked by Flores. The crowd let them know they want more action. Between rounds the trainer of Bunch Raul Rivas told him he needed to finish stronger.

In the tenth and final round Flores continued outworking a tired Bunch who only managed to knockout the mouthpiece with a minute remaining.

Scores were 96-93 Bunch, 97-92 Flores and 95-94 Flores with 97-94 Flores from this writer.

Super Welter Jahyae “The Golden Child” Brown, 13-1 (9), #153.2, of Schenectady, NY, lost a majority decision to Guido “GES” Emmanuel Schramm, 16-1-1 (9), #153.7, of Moreno, Bueno Aires, ARG, over 10 solid rounds.

In the first round Schramm came right out landing a right driving Brown into the ropes that could have been scored a knockdown by Referee Michael Margado. In the second round Brown used an effective right uppercut to the chin of Schramm with the fight mostly in the middle of the ring. In the third round Schramm landed to the body well keeping Brown on defense.

In the fourth and fifth rounds Schramm had Brown against the ropes for the most part though Brown knows how to fight off the ropes. In the sixth round Schramm came out continuing to be the aggressor while Brown counters.

In the seventh round it was Schramm outworking Brown for the most part. Both have good uppercuts. In the eighth round Brown seems to slow down allowing Schramm to outland him.

In the ninth round Schramm hurt Brown with overhand rights to the head having Brown in a corner for the entire round. In the tenth and final round Schramm continued being the busier of the two looking like the winner. Referee was Michael Margado.

Scores were 95-95, 98-92 and 97-93 as did this writer.

Super Welter Raul Garcia, 12-0-1 (10), #155.8, of Santo Domingo, DR, drew with Robert “Tiger” Perry, 9-0-1 (3), #155.5, of Jersey City, NJ, over 8 dull rounds,

In the first two rounds both boxers were mainly using their jabs with little exchanges and Garcia the aggressor. In the third and fourth rounds Perry continued to be too defensive allowing Garcia to dictate what action there is though missing with his right too much.

In the sixth round Garcia landed a left hook in the first minute to the chin of Perry. The pace is slow with little solid punches landing. In the seventh round the lack of accuracy from both continued. In the eighth and final round both looked tired with neither going past six rounds in the past. Garcia landed the first combination and landed a left hook in the final seconds to the chin of Perry. Referee Edward Collantes.

Scores 77-75 Garcia, 77-75 Perry and 76-76 and 77-75 Garcia here but neither deserved to win so a draw was fine.

Feather Manuel “Tino” Avila, 25-2-1 (9), of Fairfield, CA, knocked out southpaw Alberto Torres, 11-6-3 (4), of Sacramento, CA, in the seventh round of an 8.
