By Vince D’Writer: As soon as the mega-fight between Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia became official, the court of public opinion opened up, and junior-welterweight contender Richardson Hitchins is the latest boxer to voice his outlook in regards to the matchup, and what he thinks of Ryan Garcia as a fighter.

For the past few years, Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) has been lobbying for the opportunity to face Gervonta Davis, and after Garcia agreed to give up a multitude of concessions, an agreement was finally made, and the fight is set for April 22nd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The bout between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia has been on the boxing fans’ wish list for a significant amount of time, and now that the fight has become official, the general public seems to view this bout as a one-sided affair. Garcia is a talented boxer, but in order to beat Tank Davis, you have to be a special talent.

Most members of the boxing community agree that Garcia is good, but they don’t place him in the category of being a special talent. Due to the fact that they don’t view him as being special, the majority of the boxing community favors Davis in defeating Garcia.

Many boxers who have shared their opinions about this fight don’t believe Ryan Garcia has all the necessary tools to defeat Gervonta Davis. Junior welterweight contender Richardson Hitchins recently posted his uncut view of the April 22nd matchup and his assessment of Ryan Garcia’s skill level.

“Ryan Garcia is not an elite fighter whatsoever, just talented with speed and power, and he’s popular, that’s all; dude is going to get punished or go to bed April 22nd. I’m willing to bet whatever.”

Richardson Hitchins is a skilled ring technician who signed with Mayweather Promotions back in 2017. After a five-year run on the Mayweather Promotions roster, Hitchins felt as though he wanted to be more active, and a change was needed.

Back in September 2022, Richardson Hitchins signed a multi-fight deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. Since joining Matchroom, Hitchins has posted a victory against Yomar Alamo in November 2022, and his most recent win came against the previously undefeated John Bauza this past February.

Richardson Hitchins (16-0, 7 KOs) has sparred with Gervonta Davis in the past, and he believes the fight odds are 70/30 or 60/40 in favor of Davis. His recent tweet drew criticism from some of the Garcia fans, so Hitchins decided to post a follow-up.

“Why y’all mad I said Ryan not a elite fighter f*ck Bull, and everyone who not jacking it, after Tank done with him send him to 140 I’ll gladly ice the b*tch.”

With all the doubt that has been thrown in Ryan Garcia’s direction, he’s starting to develop the ‘me against the world’ type of attitude.

Garcia is a talented fighter who wants the respect from the boxing community, and he is focused on earning their respect by stepping into the ring on April 22nd, scoring the massive upset against Gervonta “Tank” Davis, and showing the entire world that he is elite.

That’s Garcia’s plan, but the question is, will it happen? To find out, tune in on April 22nd live on Showtime pay-per-view.
