Former President Donald J. Trump Boxing Supporter!

By Ken Hissner: Former President Donald J. Trump has been a long-time boxing supporter along with Mixed Martial Arts and Wrestling.

Trump was inducted into the WWE HOF and the Mixed Martial Arts HOF in 2013.

The latter is a visionary. In 2015 Trump was inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. In 2018 he was inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame. This was per NJB HOF President and Historian Henry Hascup.

Trump’s casino held four of “Iron” Mike Tyson’s fights eight fights prior to him becoming a world champ. He also held three of Tyson’s world title fights.

In Tyson’s fifth fight against John Alderson, 3-0 ended after two rounds and was held at Trump Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on July 11, 1985.

In Tyson’s ninth straight win, he stopped Donnie Long, 15-3, at 1:28 of the first round on October 9, 1985, at Trump Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In Tyson’s seventeenth straight win, he stopped Mike Jameson, 13-10, in the fifth round at Trump Plaza Hotel on January 24, 1986, in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

In Tyson’s twenty-sixth straight win, he stopped Cuba’s Jose Ribalta, 22-3-1, at 1:37 of the tenth round at Trump Plaza Hotel, on August 17, 1986.

In Tyson’s thirty-second straight win and fourth title defense, he stopped 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist Tyrell Biggs, 15-0, at 2:59 of the seventh round at Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on October 16, 1987.

In Tyson’s thirty-third straight win and fifth title defense, he stopped former world champion Larry “The Easton Assassin” Holmes, 48-2, at 2:55 of the fourth round at Convention Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on January 22, 1988.

Prior to the fight, Trump was sitting next to former world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali who was introduced prior to the fight. He touched Holmes’s gloves and went to Ali’s corner, and whispered something in his ear. The first solid punch landed from Tyson, and off went Holmes to the races.

In Tyson’s thirty-fifth straight win and seventh title defense, he stopped IBF World champion Michael “Jinx” Spinks, 31-0, at 1:31 of the first round at Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on June 27, 1988.

In Tyson’s thirty-seventh straight win and ninth title defense, he stopped Carl “The Truth” Williams, 22-2, at 1:33 of the first round at Convention Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on July 21, 1989.

Former world champion Tyson, 32-1, stopped Alex “The Destroyer” Stewart, 26-1, at 2:26 of the first round at Convention Center, Atlantic City, New Jersey, on December 8, 1990.

Both IBHOF Promoter Don King and Tyson supported Trump, who was inaugurated as President of the United States on January 20, 2016, as the forty-fifth president.
