Boxing Results: Diego Pacheco Stops Jack Cullen!

By Ken Hissner: At Echo Arena, Liverpool, Merseyside, UK, Saturday over DAZN Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) presented in the Main Event unbeaten WBC US Super Middleweight champion Diego Pacheco of South Central L.A. stopped former International Super Middleweight champion Jack “Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver” Cullen of the UK with a pair of knockdowns for the vacant WBO International Super Middleweight title.

In the co-main event, WBA Continental Super Lightweight champion Robbie Davies, Jr. of the UK, was stopped by IBO International champion Darragh “Super” Foley of Australia in three rounds after a pair of knockdowns and an ankle injury.

In the Main Event, Diego Pacheco, 18-0 (15), #166.10, of South Central L.A., CA, stopped Jack “Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver” Cullen, 21-4-1 (9), #167.8, of Little Lever, UK, at 0:40 of the fourth round of a 10, for the vacant WBO Int’l Super Middle title.

In the first round, Cullen’s jab controlled the round. In the second round’s final thirty seconds, a right from Pacheco on the chin rocked Cullen. In the third round’s halfway point, a right uppercut from Pacheco on the chin rocked Cullen drawing blood from the nose. In the fourth round, Pacheco landed a left to the body, dropping Cullen for an 8-count from Referee Steve Gray. Pacheco went in for the finish landing a pair of rights and a final left dropping Cullen as referee Gray was coming in to stop it.

In the co-main event, WBA Continental Super Light champ Robbie Davies, Jr., 23-4 (15), #139.12, of Kirby, Liverpool, UK, was stopped by IBO Int’l champ southpaw Darragh “Super” Foley, 22-4-1 (10), #139.6, of Bondi, New South Wales, AUST, at 0:26 of round three of a 10. Foley took the fight on three weeks’ notice.

In the first round halfway point, Davies landed a lead right on the chin, stunning Foley. In the final ten seconds of the round, a right hook from southpaw Foley on the chin and down went Davies getting an 8-count from Referee Marcus McDonnell as the bell sounded.

In the second round, a solid jab Foley on the chin and down went Davies as his ankle gave way. Referee McDonnell waved it off.
Southpaw Rhiannon Dixon, 8-0 (1), #134.12, of Warrington, UK, stopped Vicky Wilkinson, 5-1-1 (0), #132.1, of Wombourne, Staffordshire, UK, at 1:06 of the sixth round of 10×2 rounds, for vacant Women’s Commonwealth Lightweight title.

In the first four rounds, southpaw Dixon countered the ever-coming forward Wilkinson. In the sixth round, a left to the ribs from Dixon dropped Wilkinson for an 8-count from Referee Ron Kearney. Again another left to the body from Dixon dropped Wilkinson. Referee Kearney waved it off.

Olympian Southpaw Super Bantam southpaw Peter McGrail, 7-0 (5), #123.8, of Liverpool, UK, impressed, defeating Argentina Feather champ Nicolas Nahuel “Pitbull” Botelli, 14-8 (8), #123.12, of Salta, ARG (8), ten rounds.

In the first round, southpaw McGrail, a minute into the round rocked Botelli with a right hook on the chin. In the third round, McGrail drew blood from the nose of Botelli with a left hand. In the fifth round, McGrail continued showing good side-to-side movement landing three straight lefts to the chin of Botelli.

With a minute remaining in the eighth round, McGrail set up Botelli with his dazzling footwork, then rocked Botelli with a lead left on the chin. In the tenth and final round, McGrail continued winning every round. Botelli landed his best punch of the fight, a right on the chin of McGrail, in the final minute.

McGrail going past six rounds for the first time, impressed, stopping the three-fight win streak of Botelli. The referee was Mark Lyson.

Heavyweight Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher, 8-0 (7), #240.12, of Romford, London, UK, stopped Alfonso “The Prof” Damiani, 6-3 (2), #233.13, of Subiaco, Lazio, IT, at 2:05 of the fourth round of an 8.

In the first round, with twenty seconds remaining, Fisher landed an overhand right on the chin of Damiani, getting his attention. In the third round, with half a minute remaining, Fisher landed a solid jab moving Damiani back several steps. In the fourth round, Fisher landed an overhand right on the side of the head of Damiani with Referee Steve Gray prematurely stopping the fight.

Lightweight Campbell Hatton, 10-0 (3), #140.12, of Hyde, Cheshire, UK, defeated Michel Gonxhe, 4-3-1 (1), #136.14, of Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, GER, over six rounds.

All scores were 59-55.

Lightweight Aqib Fiaz, 11-0 (1), #134 ½, of Oldham, Lancashire, UK, stopped Dean “El Diablo” Dodge, 9-3-1 (3), #132 ¾, of Yeovil, Somerset, UK, in the first round of a scheduled 8.

In the first round, Fiaz dropped Dodge causing referee Mark Lyson to call a halt.
