By Allan Fox: Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis took to social media to show off his healthy ankles on a plane flight today to shut down the injury concerns fans have after he was viewed being pushed around on a wheelchair last Sunday for the Super Bowl.

TMZ has reported that Tank had an injured ankle, which is why he needed the wheelchair. However, now it appears Tank (28-0, 26 KOs) was just playing games for some reason, and it’s unclear why he would go through the trouble of faking an ankle injury.

Some fans on social media believe Tank was too drunk to walk at the Super Bowl. Hence, he needed a wheelchair and a person to push him around the stadium because he might stagger and fall without assistance.

Why is Tank Davis faking injuries?

Hopefully, this is the last of the fake injuries for Tank Davis because he doesn’t need to be viewed by fans as a flake.

As it is, some people believe that Tank was considering pulling out of the fight with Ryan Garcia and then had second thoughts and decided to go through with the fight.

The big fuss that Tank Davis’ management at PBC is making about the rematch clause would seem to reinforce the view that he’s deeply worried about fighting Ryan Garcia for fear he might get beat.

Some people fake injuries to get attention. It’s referred to as Factitious disorder. People with this problem fake symptoms of a medical problem. According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, it’s hard to treat problems with this disorder.

Faking an ankle injury this close to his fight with Ryan Garcia on April 15th is very strange, and it’s hard to understand why Tank would go this route.

As it is, some boxing fans think Tank Davis faked being injured in his fight with Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz in December 2021 to escape the criticism that was being leveled at him for his poor performance.

Afterward, Tank talked about being injured,  forcing him to fight with one hand. However, he was clearly using both hands in the fight, and many boxing fans didn’t buy his injury excuse. They saw it as a pathetic attempt by Tank to escape the criticism for him almost losing to a guy that he was supposed to wipe out.
