Teofimo Lopez still stewing over loss to Kambosos, believes it was a “scheme”

By Sean Jones: Teofimo Lopez still stewing over his 12 round split decision defeat against George Kambosos Jr. last November and now believes that was all a “scheme” so that DAZN would be able to have Devin Haney, one of their fighters on their platform, battle the Australian to become the undisputed 135-lb champion.

Teofimo also thinks outcome of the Kambosos vs. Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) fight on June 5th is already a done deal. Haney will be given the victory so that DAZN will have the undisputed lightweight champion on their platform. Kambosos fights on ESPN, so would be out of luck.

Teofimo says that DAZN knew that he was on the verge of vacating his four belts at lightweight, so they made sure that Kambosos Jr (20-0, 10 KOs) was given a victory over him in their fight on November 27th, so that Haney would have an easier time becoming the undisputed champion.

According to Teofimo, if he had vacated his IBF, WBA, WBC Franchise & WBO lightweight titles, they would have been scattered, making it pretty much impossible for Haney to ever capture all of them before he moves up to 140. That wouldn’t have been good for DAZN because Haney would never capture all of them before he grew out of the weight class.

It’s unclear where Teofimo came up with his idea that it was a “scheme” for DAZN to make sure Kambosos won, but it sounds wacky & delusional on his part. Kambosos dropped Teofimo, and dominated the early and late rounds after he gassed out.

If Teofimo had stayed on his feet and not run out of fas in the second half of the contest, he would have clearly won because Kambosos looked very beatable.

No, it’s a made fight for Haney. The whole s*** was a scheme,” said Teofimo Lopez to Fighthype when asked for a prediction on the George Kambosos Jr. vs. Devin Haney fight on June 5th. “They on DAZN. I was on the DAZN platform.

They gave it to Kambosos because they knew I was going to do with it. They knew I was going to drop them [IBF, WBA, WBC Franchise & WBO 135-lb titles], and then it’s a longer process for Devin to become quote-unquote undisputed. It’s all a game. They pay that s***. F*** both of them.”

“Everything is already made. It’s everything. I had to see that for myself. They already knew who won even before they announced it. See the tapes. F*** both of them,” said Teofimo when asked what Devin Haney must do to beat Kambosos.
