Kambosos Jr tells Haney: “DAZN got no money for you”

By Sean Jones: George Kabosos Jr. was doing a little taunting of Devin Haney on Monday in reaction to his team saying that it’s not essential for the lightweight undisputed fight to take in Australia.

Kambosos says there’s “no money” for Haney from his network platform DAZN, which means he’s not in the running for his next fight despite what his promoter Eddie Hearn says.

If DAZN has no money for Haney to get the fight with Kambosos, he’s torturing himself by thinking he still has a shot at getting this match-up.

Vasily Lomachenko and Ryan Garcia are the two names that have a chance at getting the Kambosos, but NOT Haney. According to Dan Rafael, DAZN has no desire to make a fight between Kambosos Jr. and WBC lightweight champion Haney (27-0, 15 KOs).

For Lomachenko to get the fight over King Ry, Top Rank  & their partners at ESPN need to make a massive offer for Kambosos Jr. and his promoter Lou DiBella to get them to go in that direction.

Let’s face it, Ryan is the easier option for Kambosos and the guy that he and DiBella will be picking.

In other words, DAZN views Ryan (21-0, 18 KOs) as being a better option in terms of attracting new subscribers. If Lomachenko gets the fight with Kambosos, it would be shown on ESPN in the States.

The four-belt 135-lb champion Kambosos Jr. (20-0,  10 KOs) bragged about how he’s had it tough in the last four years, needing to travel U.S, UK, Greece, and Malaysia for fights over the previous four years.

By letting Haney know that DAZN has no green for a fight between them, Kambosos, 28, is giving him the cold, hard truth, meaning it’s time to move on.

If Haney is paying attention to what Kambosos told him today, he needs to give up trying to make this fight because he’s wasting his time and making himself look pathetic. Haney doesn’t seem to get the point that Kambosos has NO intention of fighting him.

“Loma fight is in discussion, as is Garcia. Both are on the table. DAZN has no interest in the Haney fight,” said Dan Rafael on Twitter.

“But the boy said, ‘I’ll go to Jupiter.’ 😂🤥 News flash, mate, Australian stadiums are open & at full capacity. Full international travel starts next month, so bring all your mates. I have not seen one offer with a dollar amount, but you sent a contract? 🤥 DAZN got no money for you 😭 ouch,” said Kambosos Jr. on Twitter in reaction to Team Haney saying that the fight doesn’t need to happen in Australia.

“I fought in England, Greece, Malaysia, New Zealand, and four times in America to become World Champion,” Kambosos Jr. continued. “I earned my stripes while some of these boys with bigger egos than accolades can’t even go to another American state to fight, let alone 8000 miles, down under. How embarrassing 🦆” said Kambosos Jr.

Sean Jones sees Kambosos choosing Ryan Garcia for his next fight after taking care of his tune-up opponent Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9th on DAZN.

Ryan and the Lou DiBella-promoted Tagoe (32-1, 15 KOs) are headlining at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Seeing that Tagoe and Kambosos Jr. are both promoted by DiBella, it’s plain to see that Ryan Garcia is being groomed as the Australian’s opponent for later this year.

In the meantime, Kambosos Jr. will likely make a soft title-milking voluntary for his next fight in June before facing Ryan later this year in a stadium match in Australia.

Kambosos’ next opponent will likely be a bottom feeder contender in the top 15, a fighter with little pop in their punches and deemed no threat.
