Boxing Results: Denys Berinchyk Defeats Isa Chaniev in Ukraine

By Ken Hissner: At Ice Palace ”Terminal”, Brovari, Ukraine, over ESPN+, Alexander Krassyuk (K2 Promotions), presented in the Main Event WBO International Light champion Denys Berinchyk defeated Isa Chaniev. In co-feature Vladyslav Sirenko stopped Andriy Rudenko in 6 rounds for the WBC Asian Boxing Council and WBO Asia Pacific Heavyweight titles.

In the Main Event WBO International Light champion Denys Berinchyk, 16-0 (9), #135, of Kiev, UKR, defeated Isa Chaniev, 1543 (7), #135, of Nazran, RUS, over 12 rounds.

In the first two rounds Berinchyk had a slight edge countering Chaniev. In the third round it went back and forth with Berinchyk from southpaw landing an overhand left on the chin of Chaiev at the bell. In the fifth round Chaniev was wild swinging as was Berinchyk. Both continue to go from orthodox to southpaw. 

Rounds four and five Chaniev got back into the fight taking both rounds. 

In the sixth round Chaniev drew blood from the nose of Berinchyk. In the eighth round Berinchyk used chopping lefts to the head of Chaniev having him against the ropes. 

In the eleventh round Berinchyk had the edge continuing with chopping punches as Chaniev kept down low. In the twelfth and final round it was Berinchyk with nose slightly bleeding out landing Chaniev throughout the round. Overhand rights from Berinchyk to the chin of Chanieve as he tried leading back but still took the blunt of the blow.

Scores were 116-112, 118-110 and 118-111.

In the co-feature Vladyslav Sirenko, 19-0 (16), #248, of Kiev, UKR, stopped Andriy Rudenko, 34-6 (20), #246 ¼, of Dnipro, UKR, in round 6 of a scheduled 10 rounds, for the WBC Asian Boxing Council and WBO Asia Pacific Heavyweight titles.    

Welterweight Vasile Cebotari, 10-0 (3), #147 ½ of Odessa, UKR, defeated Sagadat Rakhmankul, 8-3 (6), #146 ¼, of Taraz, KZ, and Oxnard, CA, over 10 rounds.

Scores were 97-95 and 96-94 twice.

Lightweight Arnold “Ami’ Khegai, 17-1-1 (10), #127 ¾, of Lymanske, UKR and Philadelphia, PA, defeated Vicente Martin Rodriguez, 39-9-1 (21), #128, of Bueno Aires, ARG, over 10 rounds.

Scores 99-91, 100-91 and 100-90.
