What is the most significant heavyweight championship contest in each decade?

This is a very difficult question to answer. By definition, any heavyweight championship contest is inherently a significant event. During the long rich history of heavyweight boxing, there have been many outstanding heavyweight title fights with varying degrees of historical significance. Some fights standout as more significant, and this video is an attempt to pick the single most significant heavyweight title bout in each decade, starting with the 1890s and going all the way up through the 2010s.

The history books have been written, and John L Sullivan is regarded as the first heavyweight world champion. The history of the heavyweight lineage can be traced from Sullivan all the way to the present, where Tyson Fury now holds that unique distinction. During that time we have had a slew of talented heavyweight world champions, and some of those discussed in this video include Jack Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, and Wladimir Klitschko just to name a few. While opinions do vary, some of these decades do have a degree of consensus when it comes to the single most significant heavyweight title fight in each decade. On the other hand, some decades have no obvious standouts rendering the decision making process trickier and more difficult.

So what is the most significant heavyweight championship contest in each decade?
