Probellum is pleased to announce its latest promotional signing, undefeated welterweight sensation Taras Shelestyuk.

Shelestyuk (18-0, 10 knockouts) enjoyed immense success as an amateur, taking home a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics in London, and also claiming a gold medal at the 2011 World Amateur Championships in Baku.

Since turning professional in 2013 he has performed extremely well in the 147lb division, winning a number of belts including the WBA Intercontinental and WBO NABO titles.

His high-quality boxing ability and expertise makes him a threat to anybody at welterweight, as Shelestyuk looks to kick on and achieve his dreams of becoming a professional world champion.

He is the latest big name to join forces with Probellum, following on from the signings of Regis Prograis, Badou Jack, Eimantas Stanionis, Arthur Biyarslanov, Ricky Burns, Eduardo Hernandez and Brandon Moore.

All 18 of Shelestyuk’s fights in the paid ranks have taken place in the USA, with the 35-year-old from Ukraine now given the chance to compete on a global stage after teaming up with Probellum.

His ability to fight all over the world is made possible thanks to the partnerships that Probellum have established, having already secured co-promotional agreements with Wasserman Boxing, Universum in Germany, Maravillabox Promotions in Spain, LNK Boxing in Latvia, Glozier Boxing in New Zealand, Shuan Boxing Promotions in the Dominican Republic, Team Ellis Boxing in Australia, Armin Tan Promotions in Indonesia, and Box Office Sports in Ghana.

“This is a new chapter in my boxing career and I’m really happy,” said Shelestyuk. “I was world champion as an amateur and now I want to become a world champion as a professional. I like that I will be able to fight all over the world and show people the art of boxing.”

“We’re pleased to welcome yet another high-calibre fighter to the team by announcing the signing of Taras Shelestyuk,” said Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum. “His incredible amateur pedigree speaks for itself, and we now want to help him achieve the same success as a professional.

“Boxing in Ukraine is arguably at an all-time high, with Oleksandr Usyk recently becoming heavyweight champion, and Vasyl Lomachenko is one of the best fighters in the world too, so Shelestyuk will soon be able to show the talent that he also possesses.”

Details on when Shelestyuk will have his first bout after signing with Probellum will be announced in the near future.

PROBELLUM SIGNS BADOU JACK

Probellum is proud to announce the promotional signing of former super-middleweight and light-heavyweight world champion Badou Jack.

Jack (24-3-3, 14 knockouts) has been one of the best fighters on the planet for the last 10 years, having held the WBC super-middleweight title from 2015 to 2017, and the WBA light-heavyweight title in 2017.

During that time he has picked up wins over some of the top names in the sport, including Anthony Dirrell, George Groves, Lucian Bute and Nathan Cleverly, along with a stoppage win over previously undefeated Dervin Colina during his last bout in June.

Jack now looks set for more success in the cruiserweight division, and is currently ranked #5 with the WBA, #6 with the WBC and #12 with the WBO in that new weight class.

By teaming up with Probellum, Jack will have the chance to experience the promotion’s athlete-first approach, which vows to put the fighter first, thanks to its all-star team of executives and brand partners from around the world.

It will also give him the chance to fulfil his dream by fighting in Dubai in the near future, made possible thanks to Probellum’s promotional alliances that have been created with some of the biggest names in the sport.

Empowering and enabling grassroots boxing is an important initiative for Probellum as it builds a ubiquitous, digital platform to compliment broadcasters and promoters, delivering to grassroots promoters, athletes and fans in areas and territories around the world who are passionate about boxing but do not have the necessary resources at their disposal.

Jack is the latest massive name to sign with Probellum, with even more ground-breaking announcements set to be revealed in the near future.

“Dubai is my second home and I cannot wait to finally fight in front of all of my UAE fans,” said Jack. “My team at Badou Jack Promotions is excited to partner with the Probellum team to deliver several more exciting fights in this region.”

“Badou has always wanted to fight in the UAE and I commend the Probellum team for fulfilling every promise they made in bringing this to life,” said Amer Abdallah, manager of Badou Jack and CEO of Badou Jack Promotions. “We look forward to helping to grow boxing in that region and putting on some major fights in the near future.”

“Signing a fighter of Badou Jack’s calibre is yet another major statement of intent by Probellum,” said Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum. “He has been one of the best fighters in the world for nearly a decade and he still remains at the very top of his game.

“Badou made it clear that fighting in Dubai is something he has dreamed of for a long time, and due to our policy of working with all promoters across the world, we can make this happen and help him take the next step in potentially becoming world champion again.”

It sees Stanionis continue his relationship with Richard Schaefer after the duo’s time together began back in 2016, with the current Probellum President helping to guide the career of the exciting 147lb boxer.

Stanionis (13-0, 9 knockouts) is viewed as one of the future stars of the welterweight division, having already positioned himself as the #1 fighter in the world with the WBA, making him the mandatory challenger for WBA champion Yordenis Ugas.

The 27-year-old is also ranked as the #10 fighter in the world by the Ring Magazine, and holds a victory over former world title challenger Thomas Dulorme.

As an amateur, Stanionis won a gold medal at the 2015 European Championships in Bulgaria and also competed at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, with the Lithuanian now based in the USA.
