By Dan Ambrose: Teofimo Lopez went after his IBF mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr on Wednesday, pressuring him to sign the contract to move their fight date from October 4th to the 16th.

Triller needs to move the date of the Teofimo vs. Kambosos Jr. fight from the October 4th date so that their PPV event doesn’t conflict with the Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers game that is taking place Monday night.

Undisputed lightweight champion Teofimo (16-0, 12 KOs) has signed his portion of the contract to move the fight date to October 16th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

However, Kambosos Jr. hasn’t signed off. According to ESPN, Kambosos Jr. asks the International Boxing Federation to put Triller in default for breach of contract because they want to move the date. Ryan Kavanaugh of Triller told ESPN that Kamsbosos wants $380,000 to move the fight date.

Kambosos legal counsel has written to the IBF to find Triller in default for failing to stage the fight with Teofimo on October 4th.

If the IBF agrees with Kambosos’ side, the rights to stage the Teofimo-Kambosos fight will go from Triller to Matchroom Sport, who would then place the match on DAZN.

Teofimo, 24, seems to be losing patience with Kambosos because he wants to get this fight out of the way so he can move up to 140.

The money won’t be as good for Teofimo if Triller gives up their rights to the fight and reverts to Matchroom Sport.

As things stand, Teofimo will make $3.9117 million from his purse with Triller if they stage the event. If Triller relinquishes their rights to the fight, it will revert to Matchroom, the second-highest bidder in the addiction, and Teofimo would then get $2.2789 million.

It’s quite a reduction in pay Teofimo will be getting. With all the time Teofimo has put into getting this fight Kambosos done, he’s burned through a year of his career.

If Teofimo had stuck with Top Rank staging the fight, he would have had this thing over with a long time ago and would have been back in the ring already against someone else.

Kambosos is set to make $2,106,300 if Triller puts on the fight. But if Matchroom takes the contest, Kambosos will be getting $1.2271 million, according to ESPN. That’s a significant drop-off in pay for Kambosos.
