Ryan Garcia showing off super speed ahead of Rumero Duno fight

By Aragon Garcia: Ryan Garcia is looking super speedy fast in showing off his dazzling moves in training for his match against Romero Duno (21-1, 16 KOs) in the co-feature bout on the Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev fight in 30 days from now on November 2.

Garcia-Duno will be fighting at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Garcia’s speed will give Duno trouble

Ryan has the speed to make Duno pay for anything he tries to land in this fight, but it’s not going to be a walk in the park. Duno has a good chin, and he’s fearless. That might be his best quality. He has no fear of anyone. When you get a fighter that won’t back down, and has a top notch chin, they’re dangerous even if they’re not fast or super powerful. With his 73% KO percentage, Duno hits hard enough to knockout any fighter in the 135-lb weight class.

Duno, 23, is expected to be the toughest test to date for Garcia, and he’ll need to pull out all the stops to defeat the powerful Filipino slugger. Duno is like the lightweight division’s version of Shawn Porter with the way that he likes to pressure his opponents, and wear them down with his heavy shots.

Romero Duno has 12-fight winning streak

Duno hasn’t lost a fight in three years since his eight round decision defeat at the hands of Mikhail Alexeev (12-1, 4 KOs) in May 2016, That was a highly skilled fighter for Duno to be facing at that point in his pro career. He was only 20-years-old fighting a guy that would give the top level fighters at lightweight problems.

This is the opponent that Ryan wanted to use as a last minute replacement after Avery Sparrow was arrested, and unable to fight him on September 14 in their co-feature fight on DAZN undercard of Jaime Munguia vs. Patrick Allotey. Garcia didn’t care that he would be facing a fighter with a completely different style, and with greater power than Sparrow. He still wanted to go through with the fight, but Golden Boy chose not to make the match.

Garcia just signed a lucrative contract extension with his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions that will see him stay on with the company for many years. Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya is going to make sure that the young 21-year-old Ryan continues to develop to his full potential.

In looking at the video, Garcia’s speed is out of this world. He might be the fastest fighter in the lightweight division. He’s going to need to work on his head movement, because he can’t let guys like Devin Haney, Luke Campbell, Gervonta Davis, Richard Commey, and Teofimo Lopez land their shots on him.
