WBC Heavyweight World Champion Deontay Wilder will defend his title against lineal champion Tyson Fury in a blockbuster matchup of undefeated heavyweights Saturday, December 1 live on pay-per-view.

The contracts have been signed and the promotional tour will kickoff in London on Oct. 1 and continue with stops in New York City and Los Angeles.

Wilder vs. Fury tests the raw power of Wilder against the unmatched size and mobility of Fury. America’s only heavyweight champion since 2007, Wilder has 39 knockouts in 40 professional fights, including knockouts in all seven of his title defenses. Fury is a former IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight world champion who is undefeated in 27 professional fights and holds boxing’s prestigious lineal heavyweight title.

More details on the location, venue and the on-sale ticket information for the heavyweight championship battle will be released next week.

The location for Wilder vs. Fury is going to be in the United States. The fight could be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. A unification fight between WBA Super World featherweight champion Leo Sana Cruz and WBC champion Gary Russell Jr. could be the co-feature bout. There’s also a chance that WBA Super World super featherweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis could be on the card fighting former three division world champion Abner Mares. These are two super fights that will make the Wilder-Fury fight a great for the boxing world. These fights are still not confirmed yet.

Fury, 29, revealed the news earlier on Friday that he had signed his portion of the contract for the Wilder fight on his Instagram account. The 6’9” Fury said he’ll be able to take Wilder’s best shots and then wear him down with his will power, which he feels will be too much for the American fighter.

The first press conference for the Wilder vs. Fury fight should be an interesting one to see. Both fighters are over the top characters with tons of charisma and a theatrical presence about them that make them fun to watch.

The announcement for the Fury vs. Wilder fight will potentially take some of the steam out of Saturday’s fight between IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) and Alexander Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs) at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Before this evenings’ news announcement for the Wilder-Fury mega-fight, Joshua and Povetkin had all the eyes of the boxing world on their fight for this Saturday night. That’s all changed now, as the fans are excited about Fury challenging World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Wider (40-0, 39 KOs) for his title.
