By Jeff Aranow: Off the back of his new 4-year agreement with streaming giant DAZN, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn hopes to meet with the management for WBC heavyweight champion Deontay ‘Bronze Bomber’ Wilder in New York to go over the terms of their $50 million offer to Anthony Joshua for a unification fight.

Hearn has yet to meet with Wilder’s managers Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon since the large $50 million offer was made. Hearn had made his own offer of $12.5 million to Wilder, which was rejected. Wilder’s management wanted to hear if Hearn was in agreement with the offer on the table before they would meet with him.

Hearn not only wants to negotiate a fight with Wilder against Joshua for this year, but he also wants to sign him to his Matchroom Boxing stable. Hearn wants to add the 32-year-old Wilder to his promotional company, because his goal is to become the biggest promoter in the U.S. Hearn has already signed former IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacob, and now he wants to add Wilder, as well as Jermell and Jermall Charlo. Those three are on Hearn’s immediate radar. If he can sign the three of them, he’ll have a good foothold in the U.S market for a long time to come. Wilder possibly has another 4 to 6 years before his physical skills start to deteriorate. He can make a lot of money during that time. But the Charlo twins are 27-years-old, and they could have 10 more years at the top. If Hearn can sign them, he’d have two of the best fighters at 154 and 160.

Hearn will need deep pockets to get the Charlos and Wilder to ink with him. He’ll probably need to get them to sign for a long term deal for him to be able to get them at the right price. If he only signs them to a short term 3 to 4 fight deal, it’s going to cost a lot of money.

”Look at Deontay Wilder – it’s embarrassing that he’s sitting on Instagram filming himself trying to build his profile off Anthony Joshua’s name,” Hearn said to the dailymail.co.uk about Wilder. ”They need help, these guys, the Charlo brothers, Wilder, all these sorts of people. And when we come here in full, starting in September, these guys are all on the radar for Matchroom Boxing USA.”

Hearn had been saying recently that he believes that Daniel Jacobs is the best fighter in the middleweight division. However, since Jacobs’ last performance against Maciek Sulecki on April 21, Hearn hasn’t sounded nearly as confident about him. It could be that Hearn realizes that Jacobs that he thought he was. That could be one of the reasons why Hearn is suddenly talking so much about wanting to ink Jermall and Jermell Charlo. Those guys are a lot younger than Jacobs, and they’re looking a lot better in their fights.
