By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Tyson Fury had a lot of fun today trashing IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) on Twitter. Fury said that Joshua is getting beaten up by 2016 Olympic British silver medalist Joe Joyce in sparring for his April 29 fight against Wladimir Klitschko. Joshua seemed to get upset at Fury’s comments, because he fired back with both barrels, telling him to pick a date for he resumes his stalled backing career.

If this is true about Joshua getting worked over by the 6’6” Joyce in sparring, then that doesn’t bode well for his future, does it? Joyce is one of those two-fisted punchers that just keeps coming forward throwing left-right combinations without stop. In the finals of against France’s Tony Yoka, he had him running all around the ring to get away from him. Yoka won the fight but it was a split decision victory. In looking at that fight, I could see how Joyce would give Joshua all kinds of problems.

Joshua needs to fight at a slower pace for him to succeed, and Joyce obviously wouldn’t let him. I bet Joyce might be working Joshua over in sparring unless he was told to fight in a similar manner to Wladimir. We at Boxing News 24 know how Wladimir fights. He stays on the outside, throwing a jab here and there, and grabbing his opponents in a tight clinch to keep them from throwing shots.

“Hey, Anthony Joshua, I hear your getting battered by big Joe Joyce. Joker can’t deal with an amateur boxer never mind the GOAT,” said Fury on his Twitter. “After granddad Klitschko deals with flex, the old gypsy king will have to pick up all the pieces again; I’m the greatest ever; all time. I’m that confident I can smash Anthony Joshua when we fight I’ll do the winner takes all. Eddie Hearn is a [expletive] as well. Anyways I’m off for a beer. I don’t need to train to beat weightlifters & [expletive] like Anthony Joshua & Eddie Hearn #BUMCITYS. I’m a bad man, Anthony Joshua is a GRASS, #plasticbadmangetslapped any time or place. Truth hurts. Anthony Joshua is a poor man’s Frank Bruno. I might be fat, but you’re a paper champ and paper-chinned, weightlifting rude boy wannabe bad man! Know your place, chump or I’ll come back & KO you,”said Fury.

Gee, it would be great if Fury comes back and tries to fulfill his bold talk of knocking Joshua out. Can Fury lose all that weight he’s put on? He still looks very heavy. That weight is going to have to come off for him to return to the form that he had before in 2015 and earlier in his career.

“Typical Tyson Fury; always talking BS around fight time. Same offer as last time. X2 ringside tickets don’t bring a plus 1 it’s for your fat [backside],” said Joshua on his Twitter. “Shut up & give me a date when you’ll be back! YOU’RE the only reason we haven’t had a fight yet! Be about what you say. I ain’t going nowhere,” said Joshua.

Joshua sounds angry, doesn’t he? He needs to keep a lid on it for a while, because Fury won’t be back for a while. Besides, Joshua has to prove still that he can beat 41-year-old past his best Wladimir Klitschko on April 29 at Wembley Stadium. For the boxing fans that don’t know, Joshua was Wladimir’s sparring partner just 3 years ago in helping him get ready for a fight with Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua will probably get his fight with Fury eventually. I’d rather see Joshua fight Joyce. That’s a much better fight. It would be power against power. Both guys are 6’6″, but Joyce seems to have more functional muscle designed for punching. He doesn’t look like a weightlifter like Joshua.
