Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko possible for Manchester, UK

fury444By Scott Gilfoid: It’s looking like the Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury rematch could take place in the UK in Manchester, according to the Manchester Evening News. It’s not exactly a great location for the fight if you’re Wladimir, because Fury still hasn’t proven that he can fill a stadium. If Wladimir agrees to fight Fury in the UK, they could be fighting in front of a near empty stadium or arena. Wladimir, 39, will be making a huge mistake if he agrees to fight Fury in the UK.

If Fury and Klitschko want to ensure they get the most revenue, then they need to fight in Germany. That is where Klitschko fights all the time, and he fills stadiums over there. I am talking about huge 50,000 seat stadiums.

If a 50K seat stadium can’t make more money than a 20,000 seat stadium in the UK, then Wladimir needs to raise the prices so that they can turn a bigger profit.

I think it’s pretty clear that Wladimir is still the A-side in the equation despite losing a close 12 round decision to Fury last November in Dusseldorf, Germany. Nothing seems to have changed on that behalf. I don’t think it would be a good idea for Fury and Klitschko to take a risk by fighting in the UK right now because Fury is still an unproven seller of fights.

If Fury wants to experiment, then he needs to do that when he’s making a voluntary defense against some scrub opponent picked out from the bottom of the WBA’s top 15 rankings. But it would be a big mistake if Fury and Klitschko were to take a risk of staging their fight in the UK. I’m just saying. Until Fury has some kind of proven track record for filling stadiums, then I think it’s a bad idea for them to fight in the UK.

I think it’s not a good idea for Fury to fight in the UK for another reason. If Fury fights in front of his own fans, they’re going to be screaming their heads off from the opening bell, and this could result in Fury losing his senses completely and fighting like a wild man. Let me tell you, the last thing that Fury needs to be doing is fighting like a primitive against a skilled technician like Wladimir.

“Don’t for get that big announcement I told u all about recently, it’s coming very soon!😀😀😀😎😎😎 Gypsy King ‏@Tyson_Fury 17h17 hours ago. Just to clear up the WBA title situation, I’m the super champ, Brown is the regular champ, & ortiz is the intrim champ, kind of crazy lol,” said Fury on his Twitter.

I don’t care how shot Wladimir is at this point in his career. If Fury fights like an ape in the ring against Wladimir, then I see him getting royally whipped. But the thing is the crowd is going to motivate Fury to no ends, and I think he’s going to wind up too hyped up on adrenaline to think clearly.

It’s going to be hilarious if Wladimir gives in and agrees to fight Fury in the UK, and the fight fails to sellout the 20,000 seat Manchester Arena. I’ll be here to tell you I told you so. If they had listened to me, they could have staged the fight in Germany in one of the 50,000 seat stadiums and they would be swimming in good clean cash.
