Joseph Parker vs. Daniel “The Mountain” Martz next December 5th

By Gerardo Granados: It has been recently reported by the Otago Daily Times (New Zealand) that Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker W-L-D will fight on December 5th against Daniel Martz at the Fight for life in Hamilton, New Zealand. Parker will also be facing southpaw Jason Bergman on January 23 at the Rumble in Paradise in Samoa.

The boxer confirmed both fights to me via his twitter account @joeboxerparker.

For those fight fans who don’t know Joseph Parker yet you better not miss this chance to get acquainted with a solid prospect on the heavyweight division. I found interesting to see the way he is been matched, because he is been prepared fight after fight to learn to deal with different boxing styles and not to rely only on his great punching power.

Ranked #13 by the WBA one spot above another young prospect named Anthony Joshua; #14 by the WBC and #6 by the WBO the young 23 years old lion stands 6´4” and 76” reach with a solid body build averaging 323 pounds per fight and is one of the most interesting heavyweights to follow now a days.

Although the Mountain Martz W14(11)-L2-D1 isn’t a legit threat for Parker, he does represent the opportunity to fight a foe who stands 6´7 ½ “tall, maybe in the near future Joe could face WBC heavyweight belt holder Deontay Wilder and would already have the experience to deal with taller fighters, and perhaps in a year or so he could get a shot against the heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Journeyman Jason Bergman W25(16)-L11-D2 will be the first southpaw Parker faces since his amateur days so it is better for him to prepare now and not waste the chance before he could get a shot at WBA heavyweight belt holder Ruslan Chagaev who is a southpaw.

I am keeping an eye on Joseph Parker, but what about you?
