1-LR_MAYPAC-TRAPPFOTOS-FINAL PRESSER-9887By Rick Jones III: The boxing world has been waiting a long time for a fight of this magnitude. Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and Manny “Pac-man” Pacquiao will finally meet in the ring this Saturday night on May 2nd at the MGM Grand of Las Vegas.

The entire world will be tuned in to see the outcome of this one fight that will determine many things in the long careers of both fighters. Mayweather Jr. (47-0 26 KOs), the pound for pound king of the last few years, will finally be tested to his full capacity of his boxing knowledge and skills against a tough opponent.

Pacquiao (57-5-2 38 KOs), the eight-division world champion, will attempt to do what no man has done in 47 attempts by beating Mayweather Jr.

I would like to point out a few things that need to be mention and brought to the public’s attention where as true boxing fans will probably already know these tid bits. First and far most the public needs to know that this fight was put on by Showtime executives, they are the main reason why this fight of the century is actually happening in my view. I give credit to them for trying to regain the $250 million dollars they gave to Floyd. Showtime put there foot down and made it happen.

****PREDICTION**** THE FIGHT WILL BE DECLARED A DRAW.

If you are a true boxing fan and understand the system of boxing and read between the lines you understand that there is a lot more than meets the eye here. A draw would be an “OKAY” outcome leaving the boxing public wanting more of the two best fighters of our current time. I believe the odds on a draw were 8-1 a few days ago. So with that being said I believe the fight will be a draw.

Now to analyze the fight as a whole and not going by my opinion let’s look at determining factors that will impact the decision on who will win.

First off and the most important thing that can determine the outcome of this fight are the Judges, which are Bert Clements, Dave Moretti, and Glenn Feldman. The first two Judges I have named Clements and Moretti are Mayweather’s type of judges in my opinion. These type of judges love the defense that Mayweather has and believe in the hit and not get hit game plan to win the fight. The third judge, I think, has no business judging this fight of this magnitude, as he has little experience at all with super fights. Glen Feldman is going to be the wild card out of the three judges.

Now back to Clements and Moretti; they both do have experience judging both fighters in the past. Clements has judged three Mayweather fights and one Pacquiao fight, which he called a draw when Pacquiao fought Juan Manuel Marquez the first time in 2003. Dave Moretti has judged a total of seven Mayweather fights, and all in favor of Mayweather winning by a land slide, including the very close fights with Miguel Cotto. He’s also worked the first Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana fight last year in May. Moretti has also judged four Pacquiao fights, which is funny because he had Cotto ahead of Manny 100-108 going into the 12th round of their fight in 2009, but still out of the four fights he saw Pacquiao lose in two of those. So I think it’s safe to say that out of the three judges, two are pro-Mayweather in my view.

The next thing that can also determine the winner of this fight is the man in the middle, the referee Kenny Bayless. He is going to be calling the rules of this fight and we all know that he doesn’t leave much room for any fighter to work their magic. I see Kenny breaking up and getting in the middle of these two fighters all night long. I believe this is going to be a disadvantage to both fighters and more so to the true boxing fans that want to is an epic battle.

The last and final thing that will determine the winner of this fight will be the fans and crowd at the area. The fans will influence all judges in every way possible. I understand that the judges always say they never get influence by anything but I believe different the fans always swing momentum in any sport and the big question is, who is going to show up with the bigger fan base, Mayweather or Pacquiao?

Now I have wrote and explained some very interesting facts about this fight that has nothing to do with how the fighters have prepared for this fight. I understand that boxing is about styles and game plans, but these things also have a lot to do with how every fight goes. Please comment below and let know who wins and why and did this article open up your eyes a little more in the world of boxing.
