Mayweather: I’d beat Pacquiao 100 out of 100 times

1-MAYPAC WEIGH IN-TRAPPFOTOS-4811By Chris Williams: Floyd Mayweather Jr. couldn’t help gloating about his victory over Manny Pacquiao in an interview with Showtime’s Jim Gray, who lobbed in the questions for Mayweather to hit out of the park.

Mayweather was slightly perturbed to see Pacquiao complaining about a shoulder injury after their fight last Saturday night, and saying that he thought he should have had his arm raised, not Mayweather.

Even now days after the fight, Pacquiao hasn’t come forward to give Mayweather the credit for his fairly one-sided dominating win over him at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Pacquiao is embarrassed. He was a beaten fighter. I know I won. I know I’m the better fighter,” Mayweather said to Showtime’s Jim Gray. “If we fought 10 times, I’m going to win 10 times. If we fought 20 times, I’m going to win 20 times. If we fought 100 times, I’m going to win 100 times. Manny Pacquiao, he’s not a better fighter than me, no way around the board,” Mayweather said.

During the same interview, Mayweather said that he was no longer considering giving Pacquiao a rematch. Pacquiao has talked himself out of the rematch with Mayweather next year by him failing to say the things that Mayweather wanted to hear from him by giving him credit for the win. Mayweather had a lot of nice things to say about Pacquiao during a recent interview. He thinks Pacquiao a great competitor, and fought a good fight. Unfortunately he didn’t do quite enough to get the win.

It’s too bad boxing fans can’t see Mayweather and Pacquiao fight 10 to 20 times because it would be interesting to see if Mayweather could beat Pacquiao over and over again like he says, but it looks like Pacquiao burned his bridges for a rematch against Mayweather by not giving him credit for the victory.

Pacquiao had surgery on his shoulder this week and he’s still recovering from the procedure. He obviously has a long road ahead of him in trying to rehab the shoulder. If he’s lucky, he’ll be able to come back in the next nine months to continue his career, but I don’t think it’s going to be against Mayweather unless he changes his mind about not being interested in fighting him again.

Pacquiao let down a lot of boxing fans with his performance against Mayweather because he didn’t push the fight the way he needed to in order to have a chance of winning it.
