joshua673By Tom Berridge: British Heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua to fight German Konstantine Airich on the British WBA super bantamweight world champion Scott Quigg’s undercard in Manchester on 13th September. This will be yet again another step up in class for the Olympic champion Joshua, facing Airich who has a very respectable 21 wins from 35 fights. Having destroyed former European champion Matt Skelton in his last bout, the Brit is definitely starting to climb the rankings and get well into his stride.

Joshua has great pedigree in winning the gold medal at the London Olympics and being a fantastic athlete with fantastic boxing ability and immense power and it’s clearly just a matter of time before he is challenging for a world title.

Its clear for everybody to see that Joshua is full of charisma and class, unlike the majority of the heavyweight division that claim to be superstars.

I’m sure from now until the time he becomes a champion their will be many world champions that come and go, but it’s clear to see that Anthony Joshua is the real deal and I predict him to reign as undisputed champion for a very long time, when he gets there.

In regards to the current champions such as Wladimir Klitschko and Bermane Stiverne, I believe if you put Joshua in Klitschko right now, it would go the distance and either man would snatch a close 12 round decision. Taking nothing away from Klitschko, he is clearly a fantastic boxer and not a hyped fighter like many previous champions and current ones.

Now onto Stiverne, in my opinion he fell onto that title with Vitali Klitschko vacating his title and the WBC deciding that Stiverne and Chris Arreola were the best 2 heavyweights to represent their governing body, supposedly the most prestigious of them all. It was a very strange decision. I believe there are at least 5 better heavyweights than those 2 guys, Joshua being one of them.

I believe Joshua knocks out Stiverne inside the distance for me. Another interesting fight is Joshua vs. Deontay Wilde. Wilder also being completely untested and suddenly fighting for a title, based on fight footage and rounds boxed, I have Joshua easily out boxing and outclassing Wilder in every department.

My prediction is Joshua finishes Airich within 90 seconds and also his next opponent, whoever that may be.
