In the 2nd round, Molina hit Broner with two big right hands to the head that caused Broner to back up to the ropes. Molina didn’t have the power on his shots to hurt Broner, but with the way those shots landed, Broner would have been in trouble had he been in the ring with Marcos Maidana again.

The final judges scores were 99-91, 98-92, 100-90. While Broner got the win, he spent too much time trying to showboat, and at times he fought dirty by elbowing Molina and at one point body slamming him in the 3rd round. The referee failed to do anything about the body slam.

Broner stepped it up in the 4th round when he started throwing a lot of short punches to the head of Molina, and catching him well. However, the power wasn’t enough for Broner to give Molina any real trouble despite the fact that he was landing at will during that round. In that round, Broner got away with sticking his forearm into Molina’s face and shoving him with it. The referee kept warning Broner but he failed to take away any points.

Molina’s right eye began to swell up in the 5th round from the short power shots that Broner was hitting him with. It wasn’t too bad, but the eye got worse as the fight progressed. Broner attempted to land a big bolo punch during the round, and he did a lot of clowning around.

At the end of the 7th, Broner danced in front of Molina and taunted him. The referee had to direct Broner to go back to his corner.

In the 8th round, Broner moved constantly and it looked like he was tying to imitate his idol Floyd Mayweather Jr. with the way that he tends to move a lot. But Broner’s movement was nearly as good, and it was easy for Molina to cut off the ring on Broner and force him to fight.

Broner got caught with a right hand to the head from Molina in the 10th round after Broner spun Molina around and tried to walk away from him. It was a showboating move by Broner, and he ended up paying for it by getting nailed.

In the post-fight interview with Showtime’s Jim Gray, Broner said “I just beat the [expletive] out of a Mexican. I want Pacquiao.” Jim Gray had to stop Broner and get him under control when he started swearing, and he was able to calm him down but the interview ended shortly after that.
