mayweather322By Alon Calinao Dy: There has been many reports that say little Floyd Mayweather is a coward for not fighting Manny Pacquiao. In Meriam – Webster dictionary, the synonyms of the word “coward” means chicken, but there’s no word of “scared.” I just think that Mayweather is not a coward, but smart and at the same time afraid for his unbeaten record.

Personally, I don’t think there’s something wrong with the statement of Mayweather Jr. If he does not want to take the fight against Pacquiao. Let’s say he is scared for his life, for his family, and for his health. I think little Floyd is his own boss. He has all the rights and own reasons why he doesn’t want to fight Pacquiao. But whatever it is, let’s just respect the man.

However, Mayweather should also consider the call of millions of boxing fans around the world who want him to man up against the Filipino boxing icon. I know it’s difficult for little floyd to do, because in his heart and mind, says ‘I don’t want to.’ But in this battle, he has big advantage over Manny Pacquiao.

Somehow, Pacquiao has weaknesses when it come to counter puncher like Marquez. Mayweather, on ther hand, schooled Marquez, as no one ever did before. I think this is the right moment for little Floyd to do what he is best and comes up with a master plan to beat Pacquiao. What Mayweather needs to do is to stop making excuses or demands under the sun. Make the fight happen. If there are terms and conditions, both boxers and promoters must agree to each other in a short span of time.

Remember, neither of you is getting any younger. Let’s give the boxing fans they want. I think Mayweather and Pacquiao are both smart persons to understand the importance of this bout in the sport of boxing. It’s time to stop bashing each other. Let’s get it on!
