By Jake Horowitz: The California boxing scene continues to attract many world class fighters who want to train in one of the best, if not the best, weather climates and cultural centers in the entire world.

Former super lightweight world championship title belt holder and the rumored opponent for the undefeated five-division champion; pound-for-pound king and WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 3rd is none other than the fighting pride of the U.K Amir Khan, the raining and defending IBF welterweight world champion Shawn Porter, current IBA light bantamweight titleholder Bruno Escalante and junior middleweight contender Alfredo “El Pero” Angulo who happens to be Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s March 8th opponent, all have signed on to train over in the Bay Area near San Francisco, California, with the very controversial former ex-convict, and BALCO founder and current SNAC System founder Victor Conte.

It seems like each fighter has different things lined up for themselves in the very near future in regards to who and when they will be fighting, that is why they want to take their training to different levels, and I think its smart of them to try and push themselves physically to get in the best shape of their lives, so they can five the fight fans the best possible fights possible.

Has I mentioned before Amir Khan very probability is going to be Floyd Mayweather’s opponent on pa-per-view on May 3rd in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Casino. It is best that Khan get in the best possible shape of his life because “Money” Mayweather is the best conditioned and in shape athlete in the whole world.

If Khan has any chance to beat Mayweather he as to absolutely outwork Little Floyd to do so, but if Mayweather lands anything hard on Khan than it will be lights out for Khan.

Being that the pound-for-pound champion has one of the most accurate straight right hand punches in all the boxing world then “Mooney May” will find Khan’s weak glass jaw chin in no time and score a brutal knockout like they way he knocked out another all-time great Britain fighting champion Ricky Hatton.

And if Khan gets the fight I wonder how moving up to the 147-pound maximum welterweight division weight limit will effect him? But that is why in my opinion that he decided to go do some training with Victor Conte so he can have a advantage over “Pretty Boy” Floyd when and if they meet in the ring in May 3rd.

As for the IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter is training is very similar to Khan’s former situation and the current one to. Although he has no one to fight and defend his championship title belt against, he wants to stay in good condition and stay in shape, so he can hold on to his title.

All the while Khan was thinking of jumping up and moving in weight to fight at 147-pounds as a welterweight, Shawn Porter won his IBF belt by beating off a talented Devon Alexander for the title in a 12-round unanimous decision win.

Shawn Porter is a very young and talented fighter and the sky is the limit for him. Who ever he fights it will be a great and exciting fight because he has so much talent to show off to the fans.

One of Mexico’s bests products to come out of the great fighting country is Alfredo Angulo, a 154-pound jr. middleweight top 10 contender who has I said earlier will fight Canelo in early March. Angulo who has had many troubles over his career like being detained in a prison-like facility by United States immigration for allegedly smuggling people across the border is looking for the biggest win in his life against the former super welterweight champion Canelo.

In my opinion it seems as if Angulo joined Victor Conte’s crew in hopes of training and getting off with the best trained athletes in the world. Angulo is a tough and mean puncher working with someone like Victor Conte who is known for helping develop awesome speed, strength and power like he did for former and now retired champion Shane Mosley and all-time great homerun baseball king Barry Bonds will only make Angulo that much of a better all-around fighter, in my opinion.

If Angulo can beat his fellow country brother Canelo in March, maybe Angulo can finally go on to fight for his first world championship, maybe against the best fighter in the world in “Money May” and get the biggest paycheck of his lifetime.
