floyd#31By Scott Brown: Creating an audience is part of entertainment. Creating a gate is business. Let that sink in. Many people hustle. Who can hustle and make $20 million dollars or more per performance? Before we talk about legacy, esteem, stature, people’s champ, or whatever. Lest we forget, who can achieve this standard? Choose a softer, less resistant road and still coming out smelling like roses? Obviously, we are talking about Floyd “Moneyā€¯ Mayweather Jr.

One of the first images we caught from the New Year was increasing the minimum wage. $7.50 to $10.00. With that hunger existent amongst our American constituents, how can you blame a man conducting himself in a business manner? At the end of the day, Legacy is health and riches. Entering the new era of boxing is the orchestration of least harm and most gain. To defeat your opponent with the least wear and tear, then remain the fresher opponent for another $20-30 million dollar pay day.

That description has earned Floyd Mayweather Jr. a cancer amongst some boxing fans. But, what are we decrying? After several years, what is the meat of the story? Game Theory predicts humans act in their best interest? Taking Small Baby steps from that basic theory is risk analysis? The final computation is boxing is Risk vs. Reward. Never, is it more evident in any sport. Such is life for those who have managed life like and called shots; much like holding out for a number #1 draft pick?

Let’s address the obvious elephant. Why not face the greatest evil? Never has a script been so sweeter than this. Floyd will go down in history as one of the elite boxers of all time. He will be renowned for his defense. Floyd Mayweather behaves as a corporate CEO pulling strings as he rolls along. It’s a Teflon experience many will never experience.

The conundrum is weighing the value and respect in one hand, across the virtue of being known past your own generation. This can hold little importance to man who has everything. When you have everything, you’re a fat lion who will gladly accept your majestic meals.
To the purest, this philosophy is met with greatest disdain. The art is Roman is nature. It is pit against the greatest vs. greatest. But, Floyd is saying we don’t live in those ages anymore. The elite boxer of our time has chosen a different God.

Health and Virtue.

God Bless and Happy New Year…..
