Mayweather playing good guy role for Canelo

The fight is expected to be action packed, at least on Canelo’s end, because people are excited to see if the 152 lb. catch-weight will help Mayweather win the fight convincingly, or will it make very little difference.

Mayweather knows that the fight with Guerrero really underperformed in terms of PPV sales. For the first time in many years, Mayweather failed to make 1 million PPV buys. That’s really low because Adrien Broner and Paulie Malignaggi actually got 1.3 million views, why can’t Floyd make more with the Guerrero fight? Well it looks that people are tired of seeing Mayweather antics. When he did that trash talking with Guerrero on cam, people knew that it’s just a hype job. He did the same thing with Mosley, Dela Hoya, and every one he has ever faced. it’s all the same.

Expect Mayweather to look like a nice guy in his press conferences with Alvarez. Actually, he did that already a few days ago. Lately, they are trying to hype up the press tour but they are making it seem like it’s Canelo who wants to smack Floyd, and not the other way around. Floyd will try to look like Pacquiao now, and he will represent himself like a nice guy.

Meanwhile, expect Golden Boy and Oscar Dela Hoya himself to try to make it seem as though Alvarez has an actual shot at winning against Floyd. They need it so that people will bet for Alvarez. On September 13th though, it is guaranteed that Floyd will win the fight yet again by not engaging his opponent. Plus, the catch-weight will really make a huge difference because Canelo needs to go down to 152, and during that weight draining, Floyd is actually bulking up for the fight.

Floyd said in the past that Cotto should be still undefeated because when Pacquiao faced him, Cotto was weight drained. After the fight with Canelo, it’s good to know that Canelo will still be “undefeated” because Floyd fought him at a catchweight as well. But of course, they will all make it seem like Alvarez will win, but in fact, it’s tailor made for Mayweather. The only dangerous fight for Mayweather is against another fighter who has both speed and power at 147. So far, Ortiz, Dela Hoya, Hatton, Guerrero, Marquez and even Canelo don’t have enough speed and power to beat Money May. Perhaps, if such a fighter exists, Floyd will never fight the guy.
