Chisora hoping Fury beats Cunningham

Chisora’s reasoning’s for backing Fury are pretty simple and straight forward. Chisora is backing Fury because he sees him as a Brit, although Fury seems to be relating more to his Irish blood as of late.

Fury said to Irish-boxing.com “All my people are from Ireland. I was born in Manchester but I am Irish…when I fight I represent Ireland.”

Okay, so there it is. Fury’s an Irishman. Chisora still backs him though.

Chisora said to I Film London: “If I see one of my fellow Brits boxing outside of the pond, I have to support. I support Tyson Fury because he’s out in America trying to dominate the States.”

Well, I’m not sure how it’s going to for Fury, even though he picked out one of the smaller American heavyweights. I mean, he might as well have selected Brian Minto because Cunningham is still more of a cruiserweight than an actual heavyweight.

I just wonder why Fury and his promoter Mick Hennessey didn’t accept the challenge from the best American heavyweight 6’7” Deontay Wilder (27-0, 27 KO’s), who called Fury out recently and was flat out ignored by him. I don’t know about you but I’d much rather see Fury face Wilder than I would seeing him fighting the 36-year-old 6’2”, 205 lb. Cunningham.

There’s a huge difference in size, power and youth compared to Deontay and Cunningham. Of course, I guess the purpose of Fury’s promoter picking out Cunningham instead of Wilder is to keep Fury unbeaten so he can get his payday title fight in the near future against one of the Klitschkos.

I see that as nothing more than a payday fight for Fury with him getting knocked out and badly dominated. Let’s face it: Fury doesn’t have the talent to compete with either of the Klitschko brothers and if and when that fight happens, he’s going to get blasted out in a humiliating fashion.

I just don’t know why Fury won’t accept the challenge from the 6’7” Wilder because that’s a heck of a lot better fight than having his fight with Cunningham. Don’t get me wrong; I think Cunningham has a good chance of winning but I see Wilder as having a GREAT chance of beating Fury and beating him early.
