The British Boxing Board of Control is reportedly investigating the matter and they could give Fury a suspension and/or a fine for the comments, according to Sky Sports News.

Fury reacted with anger about having been called out earlier in the evening by Frank Maloney, the promoter for British heavyweight champion David Price, who told Fury to stop “Being a coward twitting on twitter.” Maloney went on to offer Fury a huge half million pound offer to fight Price.

Fury was then interviewed and asked what his thoughts were about the challenge, and he said “I’ll fight Price any deal of the week. You see, you’re a bum from Liverpool…I’m going to do you some serious harm.”

Fury went on to dare Price to call him any names and then he would be “Getting it,” whatever that means. What was really odd about the whole thing was how angry Fury looked. He looked seriously angry and it didn’t look like he was doing for show to try and hype a fight with Price. Instead of putting the comments that Maloney made in context, Fury seemed to be personalizing the whole thing. He should have been happy that Maloney was offering him a big money fight with Price, but instead he seemed furious about it.

It’s hard to imagine the BBBofC giving Fury much of any fine or suspension. He’s too big of a name right now and his comments seemed pretty harmless, except for the part when he mentioned wanting to do Price harm. If he meant that in the ring, then that’s fine, but it’s hard to say whether it that way or outside the ring.

Boxing fans want to see Fury fight Price and they don’t quite understand why Fury or his promoter won’t go ahead and make the fight happen. Fury had the chance to fight Price earlier this year, but Fury chose to vacate his British and Commonwealth titles rather than take the fight.
