Image: Pacquiao and Marquez start training camp earlyBy Chris Williams: Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KO’s) and Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 KO’s) have both reportedly started their training camps early to get ready for their December 8th fight at the MGM Grand, Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao is said to be training with his helper Buboy Fernandez, and working on the mitts and getting valuable pointers in how to beat Marquez from him.

Both fighters must be nervous about the fight to start their training camps this early. Marquez looks as if he’s already been in training camp for at least a couple of weeks, secretly working because he’s already in tip top shape. He’s got to be careful that he doesn’t over-train for this fight because he’s better off doing less than too much. The last thing that Marquez needs is to go overboard during training and leave his best outside of the ring.

Marquez really doesn’t have to change much, because he’s already arguably beaten Pacquiao three times, whether the judges want to agree that or not. Boxing fans have pretty much spoken and many of them, aside from Pacquiao’s devoted fans, see Marquez as already having won the three previous fights.

There’s really not much for Marquez to prove in this fight because he’s already shown that he can beat the Filipino. It’s really just a payday fight when you look at. Both fighters don’t need this fight and there’s nothing to prove anymore. It’s academic at this point who the better fighter is. Now both guys are older and the winner of the fight will only prove that they can beat an older Marquez or older Pacquiao. I just see this fight as nothing more than just a sad money grab since their fight last November brought in good pay per view numbers. If this fight brings in good PPV numbers as well you can bet they’ll meet for a 5th time in early 2013 with the excuse that they need to be more aggressive next time.
