If the two parties can come to an agreement to settle the case then the chances of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight will likely increase substantially.

It’s highly unlikely that Mayweather Jr. will choose to fight Pacquiao as long as this case continues to move forward.

This isn’t the only hurdle that needs to be passed before Mayweather and Pacquiao can fight unfortunately. There’s the purse split, which is probably the number one issue. Mayweather doesn’t feel the recently beaten Pacquiao deserves a 50-50 deal because he’s been beaten a number of times already while Mayweather is still undefeated. Mayweather also sees himself as the bigger PPV fighter and it’s hard to argue with him based on the two fighters’ last bouts. Mayweather’s fight against Miguel Cotto did a lot better in terms of PPV buys compared to Pacquiao in his losing effort against Tim Bradley. If Pacquiao were to agree to a smaller slice of the pie, say 30% to 40%, the fight likely could be made as long as Pacquiao is open to taking the random blood tests for performance enhancing drugs.
