Deontay Wilder too dangerous for Tyson Fury

Image: Deontay Wilder too dangerous for Tyson FuryBy Scott Gilfoid: Whatever heavyweight contender Tyson Fury’s promoter does, he needs to make sure that he keeps the 6’9″ far, far away from unbeaten heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (24-0, 24 KO’s), because if that fight ever gets made I suspect strongly that Fury is going to be left face down on the canvas after one or two rounds.

Look what you have here in a fight between Fury and Wilder. You’ve got a tall, flabby looking heavyweight with a shaky chin, without much of a jab or power from the UK facing arguably the hardest puncher that breaths in Deontay Wilder. Heck, Fury would be mighty lucky if he even made it out of the 1st round against Wilder. This one has got knockout written all over it.

Fury’s got that big lantern jaw and when he gets hit solid, he tends to hit the canvas in short order. I just love the way Fury turns his head to the side when he sees a punch coming. It’s make him so incredibly vulnerable that it’s not even funny. Normally a heavy likes to move his head away from the shot to lessen the impact if they can’t block the punch, but Fury tends to turn his head sideways. It’s funny as heck and I still don’t understand why he hasn’t learned how to take a shot the right way.

I like what Wilder’s trainer said about him on twitter earlier today: “Being hit by Deontay Wilder makes you appreciate the simple things in life like eating something besides soup through a straw!”

How true, how true. Yes, I agree with you, Mr. Deas. When Wilder hits you things can change with how you eat. Wilder’s right hand is a thing of beauty. Few fighters can make it out of the 1st round against him because he hits so incredibly hard. He’s not like a George Foreman, because it took Foreman a lot of shots to take out an opponent. Wilder is a level above that in my estimation. He’s like the Julian Jackson of the heavyweight division. I mean, Wilder doesn’t have a lethal left hook like Jackson had, but his right hand is just as dangerous. I can’t wait until Wilder can punch as hard with his left as he can with his right because then no one, not even the top fighters in the heavyweight division, will be able to make it past the 1st or 2nd rounds.

As for Fury, he gets hit too much and Wilder would have him on his hands and knees in the opening round. Once Wilder has someone hurt that’s all she wrote. If Fury were foolish enough to get up after being knocked down by Wilder, Fury would quickly be put out of his misery in short order.
